After the war and Order 66, Jayfon was part of the force that attacked the Jedi Temple. The Rebel Alliance, understanding his situation, gave him a serum which ended his growth acceleration, extending his life. He went on to become a major in the New Republic Army. During the conflicts that followed the Galactic Civil War (such as the Imperial Civil War, Thrawn campaign, and Operation Shadow Hand), Jayfon was a staff officer of the 71st Mechanized Infantry Brigade. Jayfon fought in the Yuuzhan Vong War, later serving as a colonel of the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances in it's ground forces, commanding the 71st. He was noted to have a mixed personality. He didn't seem to like anyone in particular, but cared for other soldiers' well being and rarely used the miniature bacta tanks he carried on himself. A Rebel commander noted that Jayfon seemed to be used to fighting enemies that pretty much nothing frightened ended him by that time. He eventually ended up marrying a New Republic Intelligence officer named Jin Vemlin. Jayfon had a deep likeness for mechanics, being an engineer, and some clones thought he could drive every vehicle used by the Galactic Republic. He personally preferred the heavy walkers over all other vehicles. However, Jayfon was not just knowledgable with vehicles, but as an engineer he also was taught to repair and utilize various equipment. He put up turrets on the battlefields, and helped build entire Republic Army outposts. Often he also got into combat outside of a vehicle or a turret with the Separatist Droid Army, and other foes, so was a capable combatant with his shotgun. As all engineers, Jayfon had also some training with medical sciences, always carrying multiple bacta/ammunition packs.
