Since 1981, Merrie Sue has been a freelance writer with over 300 published articles and has received writing awards on state and national levels. She also has produced three other short documentaries and is working on a memoir called Just Girls about growing up in southeastern Minnesota. She also leads writing workshops on "Writing Your Spiritual Journey." Merrie Sue is married to Rev. Phil Holtan and they have three children.
