There are three downsides to this technique. The first is that it doesn't protect Kirimaru from normal, non life threatening attacks. The second is that the armour will be destroyed about ten seconds after it is struck. The third is that it is not always certain that the armour will form in time. So, there is always a chance that the armour will fail and Kirimaru will be morally wounded.
