After acting flippant about Diane's death under interrogation (and nearly getting assaulted by Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs) Valerie took revenge by going to Traynor's apartment, wounding Lile, and shooting Traynor dead after Tubbs and his partner James "Sonny" Crockett killed Lile.
