  • Delryn was born to Gwendolyn and Piers Aramea, the local blacksmith and council cleric of the town then known as Grand Hamlet. Due to complications, Gwendolyn died in labour and left her husband to raise their daughter. Only a few short years passed before the eternal night smothered the sun and Grand Hamlet quickly became known as Darkshire. Poverty forced Piers to move into to his Aunt Eva’s home. Delryn’s great aunt was stern and severe; consequently Delryn’s early childhood was spent doing chores and running errands for the old woman. During a particularly hard winter, Piers fell ill. Despite Delryn’s best efforts to care for him, his health deteriorated rapidly and he passed away. Overwrought with grief for her nephew, Delryn’s great aunt sent her away to the orphanage. Delryn remained there until her sixteenth birthday where she decided to follow the path of the Light, and moved to Northshire Abbey, where she worked the vineyards and studied the Light and attuned her ability to wield It. Delryn dwelled within the abbey for a long time, in only a year she had read every book in the library and her thirst for knowledge and adventure grew by the day. The Monks accepted her need to grow and blossom and on her twenty fifth birthday, they sent her away on a pilgrimage to ascertain a higher understanding of Azeroth and its people It was on her pilgrimage Delryn met Dathran Eranor, the Highlord of the Scarlet Sigil and in her naivety she dedicated herself to the Scarlet cause. She served as cleric and advisor to Dathran and the pair grew close, eventually falling in love and marrying. Delryn quickly ascended the ranks of the Scarlet army and assumed the coveted role of High Priestess. Tainted with power, wealth and blinded by love for her husband, she preached fearful sermons to the masses, converting and recruiting them to the Scarlet way. It wasn’t until she fell pregnant that Delryn gathered perspective on the person she had become and slowly withdrew from her husband and the Scarlets. She retreated back to the abbey, and within months she gave birth. In a cruel twist of fate, the sole Eranor heir was stillborn; the Light had rejected Delryn’s prayers and abandoned her. Torn apart by the grief of losing her child and the loss of the Light, Delryn denounced her faith and left the abbey, vowing never to return.
