Byrum is the captain of the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff's station's volunteer search and rescue team and the founder of the young people's Clarita Awards for the Santa Clarita Film and Entertainment Bureau. He studied priesthood for several years and was ordained as an Episcopal priest in 2000. [1]
