She left the series due to her real-life pregnancy, but returned in the final season (1985 - 1986) for several episodes [2]. Later in her career, Plato made several low-budget movies and a soft-core pornographic film that went straight-to-video. Plato was adopted as an infant and grew up in Southern California. In 1984, she married guitarist Lanny Lambert and gave birth to their son Tyler, however the two divorced in 1990.[3] Plato was arrested twice during the early 1990s, and ultimately died of an overdose after a long battle with addiction.
