  • Reverend Charles Laxely (aka the Vicar) is a fictional character who lives on the Island of Sodor on the Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends TV series. He is the vicar of Wellsworth near Edward's line, and regularly sees him. One day Edward told the Vicar about Trevor the Traction Engine being scrapped, and he saved him. The Vicar also owns an Orchard, where Trevor works. The Vicar has two sons, and regularly holds Sunday School Outings, Fetes, and Garden Parties; of which all the engines enjoy. His usual dress is black clothing with a wide-brim black hat. He also keeps bees, from which he gives honey to his friends, and caused a bit of trouble for James. The Vicar was introduced in Season 2, and was last mentioned in Season 7. He hadn't made a direct appearance since Season 3. In The Railway Series by the Rev. W. Awdry the character of The Vicar appears in the book Edward the Blue Engine and is based on the Rev. Awdry's friend and fellow railway enthusiast the Rev. Teddy Boston. 1. * The Vicar/Thomas Please Add it on 3/3/14! 2. * The Vicar/TUGS 3. * The Vicar/Salty's Lighthouse 4. * The Vicar/Theodore Tugboat 5. * The Vicar/Shining Time Station 6. * The Vicar/The Little Engine That Could 7. * The Vicar/Mario 8. * The Vicar/Sonic 9. * The Vicar/The Simpsons 10. * The Vicar/Family Guy 11. * The Vicar/Skarloey 12. * Tha Vicar/Jack and the Pack 13. * The Vicar/Edward 14. * The Vicar/Henry 15. * The Vicar/Gordon 16. * The Vicar/James 17. * The Vicar/Percy 18. * The Vicar/Toby 19. * The Vicar/Duck 20. * The Vicar/Donald 21. * The Vicar/Douglas 22. * The Vicar/Oliver 23. * The Vicar/Diesel 24. * The Vicar/Diesel 10 25. * The Vicar/Splatter 26. * The Vicar/Dodge 27. * The Vicar/Cranky 28. * The Vicar/Nelson 29. * The Vicar/Max 30. * The Vicar/Monty 31. * The Vicar/Kelly 32. * The Vicar/Byron 33. * The Vicar/Buster the Steamroller 34. * The Vicar/Alfie
  • Reverend Charles Laxey is the Vicar of Wellsworth.
  • Charles Laxey was born in 1920, and is a cousin of the late Reverend Peter Dreswick, Vicar of Arlesburgh. In 1954, Edward first approached the Vicar to save Trevor from scrap. The Reverend agreed and purchased Trevor, letting the traction engine live in the Vicarage Orchard. At the time, he was a youngish man with sons of 8 and 6. After the purchase, he hired the services of Jem Cole whenever a driver was required. By the time of Thomas and the Twins, the now old Reverend could not afford to repair Trevor's boiler, but after he warned Edward when his trucks derailed, the Fat Controller, in gratitude, paid for Trevor to be repaired at Crovan's Gate. Shortly after this, he retired with his wife to a cottage on the outskirts of Brendam. It stands near the railway, so he is able to maintain his acquaintanceship with Edward and his crew. His eldest son had followed his father into the Holy Orders, and was lucky enough to be offered the living of Wellsworth on Charles' retirement, so Trevor still lives at the Vicarage. Thanks to earlier tuition by Jem Cole, Trevor's current owner has become an able driver and mechanic in his own right. The younger son, after obtaining a First in English at Oxford, joined the publishing firm of Chatter & Windows in Suddery and has worked his way up to the post of Editorial Manager.
