  • Istar was a city founded after a war between three families. The city grew and developed into an empire of its own, and the Kingpriest took residence here in grand palaces. The Kingpriest grew to believe he was a god, and his hubris called down the wrath of the true gods. Their power was seen in the Cataclysm. The Cataclysm destroyed the Empire of Istar, sending it to the bottom of the ocean. As the waters covered it, the Blood Sea of Istar was formed, as well as a never ending malestrom where the tower of the Kingpriest took resident.

  • Istar (plural Istari) is the Elvish word for 'wizard' in J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth. Three of the five Istari are definitively known by name: Saruman the White, Gandalf the Grey, and Radagast the Brown. The other two, sometimes referred to as the Blue Wizards (and named as Alatar and Pallando in some of the versions of the tale), are missing in action and presumed corrupted or dead. In fact, the only Istar who was not diverted from his purpose to combat Sauron was Gandalf. Saruman went rather egregiously over to the side of evil, and Radagast found that he preferred talking to plants and animals.
  • Description Istar is a toxic planet with a methane and hydrogen atmosphere. The surface vaporizes most liquids and the planet is a mass of tangled canyons, craters and rising mountains. The interesting thing about the planet is its single moon. Recent exploration has shown the moon to contain a treasure of metals and ice near the polar caps. The moon may be the site for a future lunar colony once Elorians expand throughout the system. The emperor has approved a small robotic mining operation on the moon to uncover metals and begin the foundation of a manufacturing facility.

History Elorian explorers first visited Istar ten years after The Stranger came. While the toxic atmosphere proved too daunting to terraform, the nearby moon is a wealth of heavy minerals and precious stones. Imported droids do all the work while a technician from Eloria services the machinery once a week. People There are no native people on Istar or its moon. Every month a Star Caravel arrives to collect processed ore and redirect the mining overseers. Locations Descriptions of several key locations follow. Automated Mining Colony Located near the Vestraidi lunar mountain range and a massive crater over 300 kilometers across, this small outpost is manned by fifty custom built ASP droids and five droid overseers. A single Star Caravel comes from Eloria to pick up the amassed metals once every three months. This represents the single greatest investment in the solar system by the Elorian government other than Isil Thor on Beleria. There are two buildings connected by a causeway and the colony is protected with a dome and a small planetary shield generator for electromagnetic radiation. The colony has no atmosphere and is set up as a strip mine with an ore processing factory. All droids were issued sporting blasters to defend themselves from anything that stumbles upon the mining facility.

She later made herself genetically compatible with mankind and mated with Humans with her distant descendant being Sala Nisaba. She eventually traveled to America in order to finish her higher education at a university in that country. During her time there, she took part in art classes where she Kyle Rayner and the two were attracted to one another for a time. However, she eventually completed her studies and became an archaeologist and professor who specialized in the Middle East. Her passion to salvage archaeological treasures meant that she often went about quests to save such artifacts before they could be destroyed and thus embarked on a number of illegal digs and even conduct research in either restricted zones or even war zones. She eventually gained a faithful aide in the form of Assan with the two getting into a number of incidents but managing to escape each time.
