- Narasimha est un ennemi de Final Fantasy XIII-2 qui apparait aux Monts Yaschas en 01X AC. Il est de type Béhémoth.
- Narsingh (Sanskrit: नरसिंह IAST: Narasiṁha, lit. man-lion), Narasingh, and Narasingha and Narasimhar in derivative languages is an avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu]], who is Supreme God head in Vaishnavism and one of Hinduism's most popular deities, as evidenced in early epics, iconography, and temple and festival worship for over a millennium. Narasiṁha is often visualised as having a human torso and lower body, with a lion face and claws. This image is widely worshipped in deity form by a significant number of Vaiṣṇava groups. Vishnu assumed this form on top of Himvat mountain (Harivamsa). He is known primarily as the 'Great Protector' who specifically defends and protects his devotees in times of need. Vishnu is believed to have taken the avatar to destroy the demon king Hiranyakashipu.
- In Hindu legend, Narasimha is the 4th avatar of Vishnu (1 of 3 deities in the Hindu Trimurti, in the role of Preserver/Maintainer). Vishnu appeared in this form to fight Hiranyakashipu, the brother of Hiranyaksha, who was slain by Vishnu when he was manifest as his 3rd avatar (Varaha). Hiranyakashipu hatched a clever plot of getting a special dispensation from Brahma, a protection that states he cannot die on earth, in space, in fire, in water, not can he die during the day or night, nor inside a building or outside, not by a human, animal, god, or any animate or inanimate being. Using this immunity, he conquers the world as no one can stop him. Narasimha is able to slay Hiranyakashipu because he is only part-god-, part-man, part-animal and he kills him on the theshold of a courtyard during twilight when the demon is in his lap using his nails to disembowel the Asura. Narasimha could not get out of this battle frenzy and needed to be calmed by another deity. This story was set during the Satya Yuga (the first of 4 eras in Hindu world history, the Age of Truth). Narasimha is Hindu for "man-lion" (nara= man, simha= lion)
- Thus he received invulnerability unless certain conditions were met; he could not be killed by any living thing created by Brahma, the creator god, he could not be killed inside or outside any residence, during the day or night and in the ground or sky. He could not be harmed by any human, animal, weapon, enitites living and non-living, demigod, demon or Naga. He could not be harmed on a battlefield and gained sole lordship over all the living entities and presiding deities. Hiranykashipu asks his son Prahlada who the master of the universe is. Prahlada responds by saying Vishnu is omnipotent and omnipresent. Hiranyakashipu asks if Vishnu is in a pillar. Prahlada says "He was, He is and He will be". In anger, Hiranyakashipu smashes the pillar with a mace. Vishnu, as Narasimha, part god and part animal, emerges from the pillar and attacks Hiranyakashipu at twilight (neither day nor night) on the threshold of a courtyard (neither indoors nor out), and puts the demon on his lap (neither earth nor space). He disembowels and kills the demon using his nails (neither animate nor inanimate).
