  • The Labor Lord droid is essentially a massive self-sustaining, and fully automated, manufacturing facility. The droid model was first designed, built, and utilized, by the Cult of Shadow as a way to free up its resources for more important matters than manual labor. Despite its origins, the Labor Lord is easily one of the least-sinister things to come out of Arcanix. Although intimidating due to their sheer size, the only focus of the droids is to create what they're told to create.

The droid has an internal molecular furnace which it uses to convert the raw materials it takes in and alter them into whatever necessary material is required for the current project. An automated assembly line then gets to work creating and assembling what the job calls for. The droid is assisted in this endeavor by at least five Derriphan-class Labor Drones. If necessary, the Labor Lord is able to create more drones should it need them. It controls their actions thanks to a durable, yet sophisticated, communications array. The heat and power of the furnace and the factory means that the Labor Lord is always venting to make sure it doesn’t overheat. Plumes of smoke can usually be seen coming from the droids as it is rare for them to not be working on a job of some kind. For mobility, the Labor Lord floats like a probe droid thanks to a heavy-duty repulsorlift generator. Thanks to a sublight engine, the droid is also able to break free of a planet’s gravitational hold and operate in space. The Labor Lord is reasonably intelligent and can be considered semi-sentient. It has a few simple commands hardcoded into its artificial intelligence that prevents it from being used against the cult, but is otherwise allowed to decide for itself how best to complete the projects assigned to it. For defense, it is armed with a single heavy blaster cannon, but it can also control its labor drones and send them to attack whatever might be threatening it. In addition, the droid has an unintended defense mechanism thanks to its heat vents. Within a planetary atmosphere, the Labor Lord’s central metal frame is always blistering hot to the touch, which serves as a deterrent to potential saboteurs. This is not true in space, where the near absolute zero temperatures keeps it regulated. After the construction and proven success of the first Labor Lord, scores of the massive droids have since been built. Although mostly relegated to Arcanix and the space around it, the cult has begun to transport Labor Lords elsewhere too. Three of the droids were recently taken into otherspace so that they could tirelessly outfit the innumerable Charon ships there with otherdrives in preparation for Sivter’s War of Darkness.
