Synopsis
  • Spider-Man follows the Jackal's order to retrieve the original Gwen Stacy clone while MJ persuades Kaine to help Ben against the Spider-Clones , all of which start to decompose. Spidey brings Gwen to MJ. Spidercide betrays the Jackal, allying himself with Scrier and apparently killing Kaine . As Ben fends off the decomposing clones, the Jackal goes to the Daily Bugle to set off a bomb carrying the Carrion virus. At the Parkers' brownstone, Gwen convinces Peter to take her to the Jackal. Accompanied by 4 Jack clones, the Jackal arms his bomb on the Bugle's roof but Spidercide attacks him. At the Jackal's lab, Spidey and Gwen learn of the bomb scheme. At the Bugle, Ben tackles Spidercide who manages to grab the Jackal. When Jackal dissolves a wall with his gun, both fall out. Ben saves the Jackal but Spidercide hits the pavement. Soon after, Spidey and Gwen arrive. Gwen strikes the Jackal, blaming him for the death of her husband, a Miles Warren clone . The two Spiders web Jackal up, then defuse the bomb and remove the virus vial together. The Jackal gets free of the webbing but Gwen confronts him with his own gun. When she is distracted by MJ's arrival, the Jackal pushes her aside, knocking her off the roof. Not willing to have her die again, Jackal tries to save her and falls to his apparent death while Ben rescues Gwen. The commotion rearms the virus-less bomb. Ben uses his webbing to sling it into the air where it explodes harmlessly. As the police remove the apparently dead Spidercide in a stasis chamber, Gwen slips away. Back at home, Peter and MJ reconcile. Later, Peter visits Ben and offers him the name and costume of Spider-Man. Ben thinks they need more time and thought to decide which of them should wear the webs.
