Eventually, however, he decided to take a much faster and riskier route of buying them from players in free worlds (most noteably world 7). On Free to Play worlds, Onioneer's strategy was to buy as many onions as he could by publicly announcing that he would pay much higher than their instant buy price in the GE (sometimes up to twice their buy price). This lead to him collecting up to 40,000 onions per day.
