| abstract | - The Solarion IV colony was a Federation colony on the planet Solarion IV. It was one of dozens of Federation settlements located in its sector. In 2368, the colony was attacked and destroyed by an unidentified vessel. Before its destruction, the colony sent an emergency distress signal, which was received by the USS Enterprise-D. The starship found survivors from the attack and transported them to Lya Station Alpha. Shortly after, a Bajoran splinter group led by Orta apparently claimed responsibility for the attack, prompting Admiral Kennelly to assign the Enterprise-D to investigate the threat. It was eventually found that the Cardassians had attacked the colony to frame Orta, so that Starfleet would draw him into the open. (TNG: "Ensign Ro" )
