  • Laserbeak takes pleasure in hunting his prey -- usually the straggling survivors of a battle. Will run for safety if threatened in a combat situation, though he often goes on reconnaissance missions into dangerous enemy territory. Flies at speeds up to 250 mph. Uses two independently targetable laser cannons with extreme precision to get information from captives. Noticeably not brave.
  • Laserbeak was a small robot bird who lived in Catalyx's chest. He could transform into a chaingun. During the Battle of Ricochet v. Everyone, Catalyx deployed Laserbeak, only for him to be blown to pieces by Ricochet.

He is a villain in the Transformers series. He is one of the servants of the Decepticon Soundwave and is often regarded highly by Decepticon leader Megatron. In all of his incarnations, Laserbeak's standard form is that of a bird-like creature.
  • One of Soundwave's 'chosen few,' Laserbeak plays the role of scout under her hosts' watchful eye. Going boldly places few Decepticons would dare venture to, Laserbeak brings back valuable, and sometimes not so valuable (as she indiscriminately records what she sees), information to Decepticon headquarters via audio/visual technology.
  • Following the theft of Power Station Alpha, Laserbeak turned out with the other Decepticons to welcome the forces of Cobra there. Ashes, Ashes... When G.I. Joe and the Autobots assaulted the island to recover the power station, Laserbeak was among the Decepticons ordered into battle by Shockwave, though true to form, he seemed to chicken out, as he wasn't anywhere to be seen during the fight. ...All Fall Down! (G.I. Joe and the Transformers)
  • Laserbeak takes a sadistic pleasure in hunting his prey. He prefers to play with them and slowly cripple them before moving in for the kill. On Cybertron, his appearance on the battlefront would usually mean the battle was over and the Decepticons had won. Then it would be his turn to pick off the straggling survivors. However, given a situation where the odds are against him, he is clearly not very brave. He'll run for safety. And he makes no attempt to hide this fear. If Decepticon Leader Megatron didn't have a special appreciation for Laserbeak's lethal style, he might have gotten rid of Laserbeak a long time ago.

In robot mode, Laserbeak can fly at speeds of up to 250 mph with a range of 1500 miles. He has two independently targetable laser cannons that can fly on their own. Laserbeak emits a laser beam that is able to pierce a 2-inch thick plate steel at a distance of 30 miles. Laserbeak uses these beams like a surgeon uses his scalpels - with extreme precision. He employs this talent to persuade captives to reveal secret information - before he disposes of them. In tape mode, Laserbeak can record hours of confession from those he's tortured into speaking, even if they have no information useful to the Decepticon cause. The Autobots are well aware of Laserbeak's lack of bravery and take advantage of that flaw to thwart his machinations whenever they can. Also, Laserbeak has a serious dependency on ruby crystals, which empower his lasers. When his supply runs out, he's been known to become so terrified of his vulnerability that his systems completely shut down and he becomes immobile.
