They shoot fireballs out of their mouth or hands, much like Mario or Luigi do when they collect a Fire Flower. Their first game appearance is in Super Mario Bros. 3, where they appear only a couple times. Their next game was Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door as a character named Flare, appears in it as a fighter in the Glitz Pit. After that, they appeared as a playable character in Mario Superstar Baseball. A few Fire Bros. made an appearance in Super Paper Mario guarding Castle Bleck or sometimes found in the Flipside or Flopside Pit of 100 Trails. They were also in New Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo DS.

  • Fire Bros. are enemies in the Mario series. They are a subspecies of Hammer Bros. who throw Fireballs at Mario, Luigi and other players.
  • Fire Bros. are a species of Koopa Troopa. Because they are closely related to Hammer Bros., they naturally throw something. So they spit fire balls, and thus got their name. They wear a red helmet to represent their ability, and a red shell for the same reason. Like the Boomerang Bros. and Hammer Bros., they have big, bulging eyes, and just looking at one tells it's a different species of Koopa Troopa. In Super Paper Mario, some can flip between dimensions. They first appear in Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door in the Glitz Pit where only once is fought in the whole game (as well as Boomerang Bros.).
