  • Born as John Donald Walters in Hammond, Indiana, Walters moved to Los Angeles in 1987 and studied acting alongside Leo Rossi and Gary Dubin. He performed in several plays on and off Broadway as well as television commercials, for products including "KFC", "Toyota", and "Bud Light" , including one with Jason Alexander, and music videos for artists such as Toby Keith (2001). Like his part in Star Trek, Walters was a background performer in the horror film Puppet Master III: Toulon's Revenge (1991, with Richard Lynch, Ian Abercrombie, Aron Eisenberg, and Walter Gotell), the television comedy Backfield in Motion (1991), the thriller In the Heat of Passion (1992, with Carlos Carrasco), the comedy Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot (1992, with Christopher Collins, Marjean Holden, and Patti Yasutake), the science fiction horror remake Body Snatchers (1993), the drama Sleep With Me (1994), the family comedy It Takes Two (1995, starring Kirstie Alley), the comedy The Associate (1996, starring Whoopi Goldberg and with Bebe Neuwirth and Jerry Hardin), and the drama Private Parts (1997, with Iggy Pop). Among his television credits are guest roles in Jack and Mike (1986, with Jacqueline Brookes), Reasonable Doubts (1991, with Joe Farago), Hard Copy (1991-1992), Seinfeld (1993, starring Jason Alexander), Murder, She Wrote (1993, with Robert Beltran, Raymond Cruz, and Rosanna DeSoto), Another World (1998), and For the People (2002, with Marlene Forte, Miguel Perez, and Barry Wiggins), as well as appearances in The Oprah Winfrey Show (1986) and A Dating Story (2001).
