On April 4, 2011, Mrázek was signed by the Grand Rapids Griffins to an amateur tryout contract. Mrázek also competed in the 2012 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships in Alberta, Canada. He backstopped the Czech Republic to the quarterfinals, where his team was finally eliminated from medal contention in overtime by the Russians. He played his first NHL game against the St. Louis Blues in the shortened 2012-13 season.
