  • Subspace refers to the area where Tabuu and the Subspace Army hail from in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It is a world parallel to the World of Trophies. In the world of trophies it appears to be a ominous purple bubble, but on the inside it is dark with neon and colourful platforms.
  • Subspace was the medium used for long-range communications such as subspace radio and subspace transponders. It was a distinct dimension from realspace, like hyperspace and otherspace.
  • Subspace is an integral part of the space-time continuum, confluenced with normal space, while being distinct from it. Subspace has an infinite number of domains and has been compared to a honeycomb with an infinite number of bubbles.
  • Subspace, in the context of a BDSM scene, is the psychological state of the bottom. Subspace is a metaphor for the state the bottom's mind and body is in during a deeply involved play scene. Deep subspace is often characterized as a state of deep recession and incoherence.
  • Subspace is an extension of the transformation process. It can store ammunition, extra weapons, datapads, tools, etc. Mechs that cannot easily carry around big bits of kibble from their altmode can store kibble in subspace. The kibble cannot be summoned in robot mode - no pulling missiles from your altmode and hurling them in bot mode. You can't store anything larger than an average mech's torso in subspace. Body kibble does not count towards maximum subspace storage. Subspace blocking technology exists but is uncommon and requires Staff approval for use in TPs. Subspace technology cannot be improved upon.
  • A space-time continuum that exists outside of normal time and space. Refers specifically to the area of spacetime navigated through when using gravitational waves as a form of propulsion. Indispensable when trying to attain faster-than-light speed.
  • Subspace is an extradimensional space which can be used by Transformers to store things. It can also be used (in one continuity, anyway) as a medium for faster-than-light communication, and is a place where sparks can become lost.
  • Specifically, subspace, referred to with that name, is used as a medium for faster-than-light communication, and as an extra-dimensional storage space for Transformers to keep their weapons and other personal paraphernalia.
  • Subspace is an integral part of the space-time continuum and co-exists alongside normal space, while being distinct from it. Subspace contains an infinite number of domains and has been compared to a honeycomb with an infinite number of cells.
  • From a scientific standpoint, Subspace is a kind of theoretical alternate reality that sits below and inside our own with a wide variety of uses. There appears to be a wide variety of subspaces, of which, three are most commonly shown throughout the series. Subspace can be found in a variety of places, be it behind a door, in a person's head, or in a purse.
  • Subspace, occasionally spelled sub-space, is an integral part of the space-time continuum, distinct, yet coexistent with normal space. Subspace and normal space confluence together. However, in some regions an interfold layer forms between the two realms. (VOY: "Real Life") Subspace has an infinite number of domains. Geordi La Forge compared it with "... a huge honeycomb with an infinite number of cells." (TNG: "Schisms" ) These domains were also known as subspace spectrum. In 2367, the USS Enterprise-D picked up frequencies across the entire electromagnetic and lower subspace spectrum. (TNG: "The Loss" )
  • Subspace is enforced on the World of Trophies by Tabuu. Over the course of the Subspace Emissary, Subspace Bombs are used to remove portions of the world, drag them into Subspace, and leave a patch of Subspace behind. While inactive trophies, plant life or people far away (Although not enough to not enter in the subspace in the detonation) survive the subspacial explosion, it is likely fatal to any intelligent being near enough to the bomb, based on how nearby R.O.B.s are torn apart, or the form Galleom tried to kill Lucas and Pokémon Trainer: making a Subspace bomb in his head explode. However, It's also possible than if a Smasher is near a subspace bomb when it explodes, it will be turned into Trophy, but Subspace soldiers like Primids, Koopas or R.O.B. Squad members, which die instead o

Regular space extends like an elastic sheet throughout the universe (gravity bends elastic space in the presence of mass). Subspace can be thought of as a pocket sewn into regular space with a small opening or openings for entry. These areas of space within space have a variable capacity allowing large things to dwell within a small bag (the subspace suitcase) or stretching between different openings or fast travel (Subspace Highways).
(TNG: "The Loss" ) Tetryon particles are a form of subatomic particle which can only exist naturally in subspace. If they are released into normal space, they exhibit erratic properties. This can only occur when the fabric of subspace comes into contact with normal space in some manner. Some species, such as the solanogen-based lifeforms, were indigenous to subspace. (TNG: "Schisms" ) Exactly what subspace is has never been revealed on screen, though many theories, both fan-based and scientific, have been put forward. Explaining subspace would be hard, since it is used as a solution and cause of various problems throughout the series. It is implied to be the medium through which faster-than-light travel and communication is possible, similar to hyperspace.

However, It's also possible than if a Smasher is near a subspace bomb when it explodes, it will be turned into Trophy, but Subspace soldiers like Primids, Koopas or R.O.B. Squad members, which die instead of turning into a Trophy. Once the initial Subspace Bomb detonation is complete, Subspace can be entered by simply walking in these "subspacial bubbles". Once a piece of the world has been shunted into Subspace, it floats around as a "colony". The colonies are then shut off from the rest of the world, Subspace and otherwise, unless a connection is made between the colony and either Subspace or another colony. Tabuu uses the many pieces of the world he collected to create The Great Maze. This Subspace is different from the Subspace of Super Mario Bros. 2. However, it is (visually) very similar to The Void of Super Paper Mario.
