He's the younger brother of Joel Goldsmith, the Captain Commander, and the uncle of both Haku Goldsmith and Yuki Goldsmith. His specialty is Elemental Kido. Before becoming Captain he was the Lieutenant of the Kido Corpse, before that being the Fifth Seat of the First Division in the Gotei 13.
