Soon after Koon arrived, Plagueis sent Lachlan and several other warriors to capture the Jedi Knight, eventually capturing the Koon and taking him to a prison cell so Plagueis could torture the Jedi for information. Over the next few days, Koon figured out that Lachlan had no desire to be a Sith, but had been taken against his will. One day while taking Plo some food and water, Koon was able to convenes Lachlan to free him. The next day Lachlan went to Koon's prison cell under the guise of taking the Jedi to Lord Plagueis but instead killed the three men guarding Koon and freed him. After freeing the Jedi, he and Koon destroyed the Sith Base and fled the planet. Soon after Koon presented Lachlan to the Jedi Council and asked to train him in the ways of the Jedi, although Yoda and Windu still had their reservations, they argued to let Plo train Lachlan.
