  • The Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is more about engineers than it is about Army. Almost all of the tens of thousands of people in the huge organization are civilians. Only a few of the commanders are actually soldiers. They build things. Big things. They build things like dams, levies, locks, and bridges. Sometimes, they even build things in war zones like Iraq where they have been building, and rebuilding, and rebuilding the same pipeline for three four years. They expect to have it working within three years, "barring unforseen additional improvised explosions on the line."
  • The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is a federal agency and a major Army command made up of some 34,600 civilian and 650 military personnel, making it the world's largest public engineering, design and construction management agency. Although generally associated with dams, canals and flood protection in the United States, USACE is involved in a wide range of public works support to the nation and the Department of Defense throughout the world. Richard Woolsey once served as chief counsel for this organization. (SGA: "Inquisition")
  • The United States Army Corps of Engineers was a military-civilian agency of the government of the United States of America, established in the 18th century and responsible for numerous public works and infrastructure projects both in the United States and others nations of the Earth. From 1958 to 1961, Dr. Angela Franklin worked for the Corps of Engineers in Korea, assisting the post-war rebuilding efforts there. (TOS - Star Trek: Assignment: Earth comic: "Brighter Than a Thousand Suns") The US Army Corps of Engineers served, in part, as a basis for the Starfleet Corps of Engineers.
  • The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE, also sometimes shortened to CoE) is a U.S. federal agency under the Department of Defense and a major Army command made up of some 36,500 civilian and military personnel, making it one of the world's largest public engineering, design, and construction management agencies. Although generally associated with dams, canals and flood protection in the United States, USACE is involved in a wide range of public works throughout the world. The Corps of Engineers provides outdoor recreation opportunities to the public, and provides 24% of U.S. hydropower capacity.

The Corps of Engineers provides outdoor recreation opportunities to the public, and provides 24% of U.S. hydropower capacity. The Corps' mission is to "Deliver vital public and military engineering services; partnering in peace and war to strengthen our Nation’s security, energize the economy and reduce risks from disasters". Their most visible missions include: * Planning, designing, building, and operating locks and dams. Other civil engineering projects include flood control, beach nourishment, and dredging for waterway navigation. * Design and construction of flood protection systems through various federal mandates. * Design and construction management of military facilities for the Army, Air Force, Army Reserve and Air Force Reserve and other Defense and Federal agencies. * Environmental regulation and ecosystem restoration. The Corps' vision is "Engineering solutions for our Nation’s toughest challenges".

  • The United States Army Corps of Engineers was a military-civilian agency of the government of the United States of America, established in the 18th century and responsible for numerous public works and infrastructure projects both in the United States and others nations of the Earth. The Corps of Engineers constructed an extensive system of underground maintenance culverts in the Presidio of San Francisco when it was a United States Army fort, for use in case of siege. The tunnels survived the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake and another earthquake in 2182. In 2255, in the alternate reality created by Nero's temporal incursion, Cadet James T. Kirk was led through the Presidio maintenance culverts and into San Francisco National Cemetery by the Gemini Project neural agent with which T'Laya had infected him. (TOS - Starfleet Academy novel: The Gemini Agent) From 1958 to 1961, Dr. Angela Franklin worked for the Corps of Engineers in Korea, assisting the post-war rebuilding efforts there.
