  • STARRING HEROES FROM THE PRE-FLASHPOINT DCU! What will be the final fate of Stephanie Brown as she battles both Flashpoint Grodd and Catman? Or is the real fight closer to home, against Red Robin? Summary of Stephness: The story jumps between the present, when Steph, Cass, and Tim are fighting Flashpoint Catman and Grodd, and yesterday, just after the trio had been glob-transported to the desert. Steph closes the issue in Tim's arms on the couch and thinking, "I don't want my city to be destroyed. I want to live. But if it all has to end, then part of me wishes it could end right here."

In the present, Catman tells Steph how he got transported as the Champion, and Grodd tagged along, possibly creating the imbalance that allowed Tim and Cass to tag along with Steph. Cass and Tim are being beaten to a pulp by Grodd, and Steph offers herself in their place. Grodd claims he can kill them all and doesn't need to choose, and Steph flashes back to the embrace she shared with Tim yesterday, igniting a conversation about why they broke up - a conversation Tim has been avoiding for the whole year under the Dome. It ends with Steph decking Tim for not understanding, well, anything. In the present, Steph attempts to make sure that "hitting me in the face" isn't the last thing between Tim and herself (even though it was the first thing between them) by fighting with all her abilities against Grodd. She has minor success, but then Grodd mindcontrols Tim, and she's forced to knock him out. Thinking quickly, Steph asks Catman to surrender to satisfy the terms of their combat, but says she is willing to surrender if he is not. Since Grodd has already killed most of the people in his city, Catman agrees, and taunts Grodd into following him as the portal opens. Later, at Cass's side in the hospital, Steph and Tim talk. When Cass wakes up, she tells them to get a room, as their clear desire for each other expressed in their body language gives her a massive headache. As they walk out, Tim and Steph kiss passionately. Skipping to the evening, with lots of candles, they proceed to make out, though their bruises from the battle with Grodd prevent any further shenanigans. Steph closes the issue in Tim's arms on the couch and thinking, "I don't want my city to be destroyed. I want to live. But if it all has to end, then part of me wishes it could end right here." * * * * *
