Wichtig ist, sich mit den einzelnen und recht unterschiedlichen Tieren zu verständigen, diese reagieren dann nach einiger Zeit entweder positiv, oder negativ auf den eigenen Spielcharakter. Im Laufe des Spiels lernt der Spieler das Dorf besser kennen und erledigt regelmäßig die zugeteilten Aufgaben und kann sein Haus mit errungenen Gegenständen schmücken, bis dieses angefüllt ist und erweitert werden muss. Im Spiel können diverse Aufgaben erledigt werden: Insekten fangen, angeln, Haus einrichten, Obst sammeln, Briefe schreiben, Geld verdienen uvm. Animal Crossing: Wild World ist ein farbenfroher und liebevoll gemachter Zeitvertreib.
