Ginsberg was brought aboard the USS Voyager by Q in 2372 along with Sir Isaac Newton and Commander William T. Riker to provide evidence of Quinn's influence on history. He was returned shortly afterwards with no memory of this. (VOY: "Death Wish") In the first draft script of "Death Wish", this character was actually real-life baseball player Cal Ripken, Jr. He was to appear in the episode "in his Oriole suit wearing a glove." After actor Maury Ginsberg was cast, though, the episode's writers, Shawn and Michael Piller, decided to go ahead and use his name for the character. Im Zuge der Beweisführung bringt Q Sir Isaac Newton, Commander William T. Riker und auch Maury Ginsberg auf die Voyager. Er offenbart, dass es damals Quinn ist, der Maury nach Woodstock bringt und mit seiner späteren Ehefrau bekannt macht. Ohne Quinns Eingreifen hätte weder das legendäre Festival stattfinden können, noch hätte Maury seine spätere Frau kennen gelernt. (VOY: ) Maury Ginsberg wurde von Maury Ginsberg gespielt und von Christian Olsen synchronisiert. Ursprünglich sollte seine Figur anders heißen, aber als die Autoren der Episode, Shawn und Michael Piller, Ginsberg kennen lernten, fanden sie seinen Namen so gut, dass sie den seiner Figur entsprechend umbenannten.
