Her first attempt was at the Eurovision Song Contest 1977 in London where she performed the song Casanova, finishing in 14th place. Two years later, she participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 1979 in Jerusalem performing the song Oliver. She had a little more luck compared to London, just missing out on the top 10 finishing in 11th place. Her third appearance was at the Eurovision Song Contest 1982 in Harrogate with her then-husband Jahn Teigen (who is best known for his Nul Points in 1978). As a duo, they performed the song Adieu and finished in 12th place. She also appeared as one of Jahn's backing singers in 1983 on his ninth-place entry in Munich, and co-wrote the 1988 Norwegian entry for Karoline Kreuger which placed fifth. Anita has also done film work, providing the singing voices for the Norwegian dubs of Pocahontas, Anastasia and Quest For Camelot.
