Later, Griv and Inchig were sent by Skurr to escort reptiles, grass snakes, and a toad to the Quarry to meet with Baliss the Slayer. Their only job was to ensure that the others met with the adder; however, upon arrival at the quarry, the grass snakes feigned death and the two magpies ended up talking with Baliss instead. Inchig and Griv secured a meeting time, and returned to the Doomwytes' lair to report this back to Skurr. Griv was a minor character, not much else is known. Not to be confused with Gliv.
