While using this technique, Tonbogiri has premonition as to whether a person's wound or ailment will kill them or if they will recover, and how long it will take. He can also manipulate this, using one aspect of the death, such as the killer, reason, or circumstances, as a type of "hinge" around which he turns the rest of the death to suit his needs. For example, if a man was going to die of a heart attack in two years, Jōshō could change the timing to right then, but leave the cause the same. When he does this, he alters the death in the form of a small glowing black sphere in the air. As a final resort, he can personify a death and use it to kill whoever it touches of a certain cause. This however, is dangerous to him as well, because he cannot always control it, and it could harm him as well. The most commonly used method of this is for him to fire the sphere at a foe, from the head of the black dragon, when a fatal attack strikes him, causing him to be unaffected, but the other person to die. He can also do this for more minor wounds, but the weakness for both is that the sphere must strike the person before the attack hits him, or else the sphere dissipates and is ineffective. He can also use the green dragon for this method, firing his own wellbeing, deteriorating his health, or prolonging or exacerbating his own suffering from an injury, in order to fire a glowing white sphere that gives that wellbeing or wound recovery to whoever its trikes, causing their suffering to diminish.
