- Thyrus Gormann is the former Supreme Patriarch of the Colleges of Magic. He was defeated by his successor Balthasar Gelt at the Hall of Duels. Thyrus is regarded as the most powerful Pyromancer in the Old World. He is a member of the Imperial Court and a trusted advisor to Emperor Karl Franz. Thyrus is a very physically imposing patriarch, he is large, broad and very tall. He is described as being built more like a general than a magister. He is temperamental, fast to anger but also quick to laugh. Like virtually all Bright Wizards he has bright red facial hair.

Er hatte drei hintereinander folgende Amtszeiten. Im letzten magischen Wettstreit in der Großen Duellhalle unterlag er jedoch einem jungen Goldzauberer namens Balthasar Gelt, der ihn als Verlierer jedoch bewußt am Leben ließ, da er der Meinung war, einen so fähigen, imperialen Zauberer zu töten, sei unverantwortlich gegenüber dem Imperium.

Thyrus hat seine Niederlage akzeptiert und dem neuen Obersten Patriarchen die Treue geschworen, sein feuriges Blut wird ihn jedoch nach 8 Jahren mit Sicherheit dazu bringen, Gelt um den Titel herauszufordern. Thyrus Gormann ist oft als Ratgeber am imperialen Hof in Altdorf zu sehen und zählt zu den ältesten und vertrauenswürdigsten Beratern des Imperators Karl Franz. Er trägt ein magisches Schwert und ist beinahe sieben Fuß groß. Als sein bester Schüler innerhalb des Feuerordens gilt Hannes Flammbach. Irgendwann zwischen seinem Duell mit Balthasar Gelt und der Konklave des Lichts wurde er dann auch als Oberhaupt und Patriarch des Feuerordens abgelöst, da diesen Posten während der Konklave Luther Flamestrike einnahm.
