| Plot | - Sun is watching Jin fish and then walks into the jungle. There she buries a California drivers license when Michael runs by looking for Vincent. Seeing the license he picks it up and Sun tries to explain that she was going to leave Jin. Michael comforts her telling her it will be okay. The two almost share a kiss but Vincent appears barking before anything can happen, prompting Sun to leave.
- Jack is searching for supplies when he meets Ethan Rom, who gives him a case full of medicine that he says he found in the jungle. Ethan mentions that Claire might have to deliver the baby on the island, and Jack thanks him for his assistance. Ethan tells Jack his own wife died in childbirth along with the baby, and they both hope that rescue is on the way.
- Christian is talking with Jack about his wedding, which is later that day. Christian reveals that his father disapproved of him marrying Margo, and that was the reason he didn't wear the watch given to him by his father on his wedding day. However, he tells Jack that he is doing the right thing marrying Sarah and passes the watch to Jack, who immediately puts it on.
- Ben arrives to an urgent situation at Room 23. Juliet is there and tells him that he has done something again and that everybody is too scared to go in there. Juliet suggests that they could bring him back to Michael, but Ben refuses, saying that Walt is special and that Jacob wanted him there. Juliet brings Ben outside to show what he has done: a group of dead birds lay on the stairwell.
- Juliet comes to Jack and tells him that Sayid and the others have not trusted her since she arrived at the beach camp. She reveals that they are right; she is still working for Ben and she has been sent to the camp to do tests to find out which of the women are pregnant. Jack asks her why she is telling him this and she tells him how she saw Sun's baby the night before and that she is tired of living Ben's dream.
- Amelia arrives early to Juliet's for the book club meeting. She notices that Juliet is upset about something, and asks if it is Ben. Juliet says that things have gotten awkward between them, but Amelia presses further, suspecting there is something more. Juliet then requests that Amelia not tell anyone what she is about to show her. As Juliet is about to reveal Ben's X-rays, they are interrupted by the doorbell; presumably other book club members have arrived.
- While Michael is tied up at the decoy village, Juliet informs him that he can have the boat he requested to take Walt away after freeing Ben. Juliet tells Michael that Walt is special and that she's glad he will get him away from the Island. After assuring him that Ben will comply with this deal, Juliet then reveals the deal she has made herself with him, concerning her sister. She reminds Michael of the list they gave him, and wishes him good luck.
- Ben and Jack play chess. Ben asks Jack if he would consider staying on the Island. Jack asks Ben if he intends to keep his promise to let Jack leave. Ben says that its not all up to him in that the Island will not necessarily let Jack leave. He also tells Jack that if he does leave, there might be a time when he would want to come back. Jack tries an aggressive move in the game and Ben immediately counters with another move .
- Vincent is running through the jungle on the island, when he encounters Christian Shephard. Christian tells Vincent to find Jack and wake him up because he "has work to do." The first scene of then replays with Vincent encountering Jack as he is regaining consciousness.
- Hurley comes out of Rose's and Bernard's tent. Neil comes up, and ask what he is doing. He looks at the bottle of DHARMA Cabernet that Hurley has dropped, and then asks if Hurley is going to make a move on Libby. He asks because he has his eyes upon her himself. Hurley tells him that he just now has a date with Libby. Neil reluctantly relents and walks away.
- Dr. Arzt is catching a spider in the jungle when Michael comes up and asks about the weather conditions for launching the raft. Then Arzt admits he made up the story about the monsoon because he wanted them to get help with the raft as soon as possible. He then tells Michael he went to Sydney to meet a woman whom he had met on the internet, but that she disappeared during their first dinner in a restaurant.
- Dr. Arzt tries to convince Jin and Sun not to move from the beach to the caves as Jack has proposed. When Hurley and Michael tell him they can't understand him, he also expresses his doubts in Jack's role as a leader to them. However he changes his mind and decides to move to the caves after all when the roaring of the monster interrupts their conversation.
- Hurley, Michael, and Jin are playing golf on the golf course. After Jin misses a putt to win the game, he goes on a temper-tantrum, shouting in Korean. As Hurley and Michael look on, Jin lets out all of his anger: he is unhappy, he doesn't want to be pitied, nobody understands him, and he is tired of the handcuff on his wrist. As Michael and Hurley eventually leave, Jin sits down, half crying, and repeating "I'm so alone."

| trama | - Juliet è a casa sua a Othersville, quando nota che i muffins in forno stanno bruciando, intanto, mentre Juliet si scotta tentando di prendere i biscotti, suona il campanello. Si tratta di ben, che accortasi della scottatura cerca di aiutare Juliet portandogli del ghiaccio. Iniziano a parlare e ben si rende conto che qualcosa preoccupa Juliet e gli chiede se Ben è la causa della sua preoccupazione. A questa domanda Juliet risponde che la cosa è molto complicata e che gli avrebbe fatto vedere una cosa soltanto se non l'avrebbe detto a nessuno. ben acconsente, Juliet apre il cassetto della cucina, sta per tirare fuori una busta e suona il campanello. Il mobisode a questo punto finisce.
- Hurley esce dalla tenda di Rose e Bernard. Arriva Neil e gli chiede cosa stia facendo, guardando la bottiglia di vino DHARMA che cade dalle braccia di Hurley. A Neil interessa sapere se il ragazzo è intenzionato a provarci con Libby perchè anche lui le ha messo gli occhi addosso. Hurley risponde che proprio in quel momento ha un appuntamento con la donna. A quel punto Neil si complimenta con lui e se ne và.
- Vincent sta passeggiando nella giungla, mentre noi seguiamo il suo punto di vista. Dopo aver passato un gruppo di valigie ricoperte di vestiti, sente un fischio. E' Christian Shephard, che chiede al Vincent di avvicinarsi. Christian dice a Vincent di andare a svegliare suo figlio, che è privo di coscienza e non molto distante. Mentre il cane se ne va via, christian aggiunge, "Lui ha del lavoro da fare." Quindi si vedono i momenti iniziali di : l'occhio di Jack si apre, mentre lui si risveglia disorientato in un canneto di bamboo e Vincent si avvicina. Essi si guardano l'un l'altro per un momento prima che Vincent si allontani.
- Il Dr.Arzt sta recuperando un ragno nella giungla, quando Michael arriva e gli rivolge una domanda sulle condizioni meteo per far salpare la zattera . - Ben e Jack stanno giocando a scacchi. Ben gli domanda se abbia mai preso in considerazione l'idea di rimanere sull'isola, Jack risponde chiedendo se sia davvero intenzionato a tenere fede alla promessa di lasciarlo andare. Ben risponde che la questione non dipende interamente da lui e che se l'isola non lo vuole lasciar andare, non lo farà. Aggiunge inoltre che verrà un giorno in cui rimpiangerà la sua presenza sull'isola.
- Il Dr. Arzt tenta di convincere Jin e Sun di non spostarsi dalla spiaggia alle grotte solo perchè Jack l'ha proposto. Quando Hurley e Michael gli dicono che la coppia non può comprendere cosa dice lui sottolinea la sua teoria sull'incapacità di Jack a guidarli ed al suo ruolo di leader. Cambia idea poco dopo aver sentito il mostro aggirarsi nei dintorni della spiaggia, e si dirige rapidamente alle grotte.
- Jack viene svegliato, mentre di notte dorme nella sua tenda, da Juliet. La donna confessa che da quando l'ha portata al loro campo Sayid e gli altri non si fidano di lei e hanno paura che lei possa far loro del male. Prima che Jack faccia in tempo a dire che la proteggerà, la donna confessa che hanno ragione: si trova lì per conto di Ben e il suo compito è quello di scoprire quale donna sia incinta per prelevare dei campioni. Jack le chiede come mai gli stia rivelando ciò, e Juliet gli racconta di come la notte prima lei abbia visto il bimbo di Sun e di come sia stufa di vivere il sogno di Ben
- Mentre Jack sta sistemando la tenda, arriva Ethan chiedendoli se lui sia il dottore, e alla risposta affermativa di Jack, si abbassa e gli mostra una valigia piena di medicine. Iniziano a parlare dei soccorsi. Ethan afferma che non arriveranno e aggiunge che lui lo sa benissimo che non succederà perché è una persona intelligente e che sa di dover fare partorire Claire nell'isola. A questo punto Ethan si alza e confida a Jack che sua moglie è morta di parto e che il suo bambino non è riuscito a sopravvivere e che spera che si stiano sbagliando riguardo al non arrivo dei soccorsi.
- Hurley e Michael stanno giocando a golf sul campo da golf insieme a Jin, che ha bisogno di mettere la pallina in buca per vincere. Jin sbaglia, e Hurley si congratula con Michael per la vittoria. Jin, comunque, reagisce furiosamente alla sconfitta. Comincia ad urlare e gridare in coreano, quando Hurley e Michael cercano di calmarlo senza successo. Jin si sfoga dicendo che è infelice, che non vuole essere compatito, che nessuno lo comprende, che è stanco delle manette. - È il giorno del matrimonio di Jacke suo padre Christian si avvicina a lui per una chiacchierata.Christian gli rivela che suo padre non approvò mai il suo matrimonio con Margo, e perciò non indossò mai quell'orologio che egli gli donò il giorno delle sue nozze. Tuttavia confida a Jack che fa bene a sposare Sarah; gli dona quindi quello stesso orologio, e Jack se lo mette subito al polso.
- Michael si trova legato quando all'improvviso entra Juliet. La donna gli comunica che la barca è sua e che potrà portare via Walt non appena avrà liberato Ben. Aggiunge che Walt è un ragazzo davvero speciale, fuori dal comune, e questo la preoccupa molto. Al tempo stesso è felice dell'idea che presto il padre lo porterà fuori dall'isola e rassicura Michael dicendo che Ben manterrà fede alla sua parola. Rivela inoltre del patto che lei stessa ha sancito con Ben riguardante la sorella, e prima di andarsene ricorda a Michael la sua lista e gli augura buona fortuna.
- Juliet si trova fuori la stanza 23, nel bel mezzo di un'emergenza. Un allarme suona e persone indistinte corrono a destra e a sinistra. Arriva Ben e lei gli dice che lo ha fatto di nuovo, e che tutti sono così spaventati da non voler entrare di nuovo in quella stanza. Juliet suggerisce che sia arrivato il momento di riportare Walt dal padre, ma Ben si rifiuta. Dice che Walt è speciale, e che Jacob lo vuole qui ma Juliet sostiene che il ragazzo è pericoloso. Ben replica dicendo che è solo un ragazzo, allora la donna gli mostra cosa ha fatto. Girato l'angolo un gruppo di uccelli morti giace sul terreno sotto una finestra sbarrata.

| Resumen | - Jack y Ben están jugando al ajedrez. Ben expresa su pesar por la partida de Jack, aunque asegura que se propone cumplir su acuerdo, pero insinúa que la isla puede decidir de otra manera. También afirma que si Jack se fuera, podría llegar el día en el que él deseara volver otra vez. Jack piensa que eso nunca va a ocurrir y hace un movimiento de ajedrez agresivo. Ben toma represalias inmediatamente con un "castillo". Él es amo de la situación otra vez.
- El Dr. Arzt está capturando una araña en la selva cuando Michael viene y le pregunta por las condiciones atmosféricas para lanzar la balsa. Entonces Arzt admite que él invento la historia sobre el tiempo porque él queria que consiguieran ayuda con la balsa cuanto antes. Él entonces le dice a Michael que él fue a Sydney a conocer a una mujer a que él había conocido por Internet, pero ella desapareció durante su primera cena en un restaurante.
- Hurley sale de la tienda de Rose y Bernard. Neil viene hacia él, y pregunta que está haciendo. Mira la botella de Cabernet DHARMA que se le ha caído a Hurley, y después pregunta si Hurley va a tener una cita con Libby. Él le pregunta, porque tiene los ojos sobre ella. Hurley le dice que él apenas ahora tiene una cita con Libby. Neil lo felicita y se va lejos.
- Jin está pescando mientras Sun lo observa desde lejos. Ella se dirige a la selva a enterrar algo y Michael aparece buscando a Vincent. - Vincent viaja a través de la selva, y seguimos su punto de vista. Después de haber pasado una maleta con ropa repartida alrededor, escucha un silbido. Es Christian Shephard, que llama al Labrador. Christian le dice a Vicent que tiene que ir a despertar a su hijo, que está inconsciente y no muy lejos, y añade que "tiene trabajo que hacer". A continuación, vemos la apertura del episodio "Pilot - Part 1": Jack abre los ojos y despierta desorientado en un bosque de bambú; Vincente lo mira; se miran el uno al otro, y Vincent se va.
- Juliet está fuera del Cuarto 23, donde hay algún tipo de conmoción y una alarma que suena. - En una familiar escena, Juliet se encuentra en su casa de los Barracones cuando el timbre del horno avisa de que los panecillos se queman. Después de quemarse la mano, llaman a la puerta. - El Dr. Arzt intenta convencer a Jin y Sun de no irse de la playa hacia las cuevas como Jack ha propuesto. Cuando Michael y Hurley le dicen que no pueden entender, él expresa sus dudas en el papel de Jack como un líder para ellos. Sin embargo, cambia de parecer y decide mudarse a las cuevas, después que el monstruo interrupiera su conversación.
- Hurley y Michael están jugando glof junto a Jin, quien está a solo un tiro de ganar. Jin pierde y Hurley felicita a Michael por su triunfo. Jin, sin embargo, reacciona extremadamente furioso por perder. Comienza a gritar y maldecir en coreano y Hurley junto a Michael tratan de calmarlo inútilmente. Jin se tranquiliza y dice que es infeliz, que no quiere que le tengan piedad, que se siente solo y esta cansado de las esposas. Luego Hurley y Michael se van y Jin queda solo, sentado en el pasto, diciendo que está solo.

- Jack está durmiendo en su tienda cuando Juliet llega para despertarlo. Ella le comenta que desde su llegada al campamento, Sayid y Sawyer han desconfiado de su presencia. Cuando Jack intenta mostrarle su protección, Juliet dice que el resto del campamento está en lo cierto respecto a ella. Juliet revela que su misión en el campamento, por orden de Ben, es descubrir qué mujeres están embarazadas, para que luego sean secuestradas. Jack le pregunta la razón de su confesión; Juliet le comenta que después de llevar a Sun a la estación médica y de ver un bebé dentro de ella se ha hartado de "vivir en el sueño de Ben".
- Jack búsca medicinas cuando llega Ethan Rom y le da un maletín completo de medicinas, que según él, las encontró en la selva. Ethan menciona que Claire podría tener que dar a luz al bebé en la isla, y Jack le agradece su asistencia. Ethan le dice a Jack que su propia esposa murió en el parto junto con el bebé, y la esperanza de ser rescatados aún no está muerta.

Die Mobisoden haben jeweils eine Dauer von 2 bis 4 Minuten. Es handelt sich dabei ausdrücklich nicht um gelöschte Szenen, die beim Kürzen der regulären Folgen angefallen sind, sondern um speziell zu diesem Zweck nachträglich gedrehte Szenen. Laut Eigenwerbung des US-Fernsehsenders abc enthüllen die "Missing Pieces" wichtige "Antworten und neue Details" über die Charaktere der Serie. Die "Missing Pieces" lassen sich von Staffel 1 an chronologisch an bestimmten Stellen in den Ablauf der Handlungen einordnen.
