  • Denis Herron (born June 18, 1952 in Chambly, Quebec) is a former Canadian professional goaltender who played for the Montreal Canadiens, Kansas City Scouts, and Pittsburgh Penguins in the National Hockey League. He was picked 40th overall in the 1972 NHL Amateur Draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins from the junior Trois Rivieres Ducs. Herron played parts of three seasons with the Penguins before being traded to the Kansas City Scouts in 1975. After two seasons with the Scouts he returned to the Penguins in 1976.

He was traded to the Montreal Canadiens in 1979. Denis won the 1981 Vezina Trophy with Montreal along with Michel Larocque and Richard Sevigny and in 1982 he won the William M. Jennings Trophy with Rick Wamsley. In 1982 Herron was traded back to the Penguins with whom he played until his retirement in 1986.
