| abstract | - Berrow initially became involved with the series through co-executive producer Meghan McCarthy. After Twilight Sparkle and the Crystal Heart Spell was published, Berrow expressed interest in writing for the show to McCarthy; McCarthy approached Berrow some time later and offered her a position. In interviews, Berrow has described her transition from book author to show writer as a relatively smooth one, noting that the only difference in episode writing is having a larger consideration for the animators and voice cast. She has counted the works of J. K. Rowling, Roald Dahl, and Philip Pullman among her writing influences. Outside My Little Pony, Berrow has ghostwritten novels for children and young adults in various series, including those based on the Fox television series Glee, and she has served as production assistant in film and television including Blue Peter, Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and The Good Wife. Berrow is also a frequent guest and attendee of My Little Pony fan conventions, having attended over ten conventions between 2014 and 2015.
