  • Pandora Station was the first of two Pandora-class space stations commissioned by Admiral Maxwell Gandel, the second being Hamunaptra Station. Commissioned near the end of the Imperial Civil War by a third party contractor (Goran Brynzle Shipping and Construction) for an undisclosed price, Pandora was meant to serve as a mobile command and support center for the 105th Imperial fleet. To facilitate this role Pandora sported four fully functional drydock facilities, each large enough to berth an Imperial Star Destroyer or a number of smaller combat vessels. Despite the 105th's relative lack of action during the Imperial Civil War, Pandora was nonetheless equipped with machine shops and fabrication facilities that could, if needed, produce almost any replacement part needed by the fleet.

A number of hangar bays situated on the upper and lower surfaces of the station held fighter squadrons for defensive actions, and weapons emplacements including turbolasers, quad laser cannons, and warhead launchers dotted the surface. This weapons compliment was considered light for the station's size, and focused mainly on anti-starfighter defenses. The theory was that Pandora would avoid enemy attacks, and if assaulted would have the 105th to provide comprehensive defense. The "mobile" part of Pandora's mission profile was provided by several powerful hyperspace engines. Before initiating a hyperspace jump, the ribcage-like drydock facilities would be detached from the station proper. These would be transported via several specially outfitted bulk freighters to their destination, to be reattached later. The station itself would then make the jump to hyperspace unassisted. After the end of the Imperial Civil War, Admiral Gandel joined the Empire under James Ardin and Pandora lost significance. No longer needed as a mobile refuge, Gandel recommissioned the station as a biological and chemical weapons factory under the direction of Doctor Wallace Hargrove. It was here that the biological weapons Admirals Gandel and Ferval used against the New Republic were developed. Pandora was eventually destroyed in orbit of Bilbringi by a New Republic attack force, the debris falling to the planet's surface and causing a major health hazard as intact portions of the station released various tested and untested biological and chemical weapons.
