  • History of organization is unknown.
  • No backstory or history is recorded of this criminal, but what is known is that he is a robber with a hate for the Animal Man and an alliance with the Red Mask. Though his powers included manipulation over darkness and abilities to phase through solid surfaces, his very faculties led to uncontrollable strange visions that got so bad that he went completely insane and clawed his own eyes out before being sent to Arkham Asylum.
  • The veil is a magical energy created by The Oracle and Kandrakar, separating the dimension of Meridian from the rest of the worlds, to prevent Phobos from spreading his evil to the rest of the world.
  • The Veil is a region of warm, turquoise waters to the north of Open Waters.
  • On Samhain Eve, the Veil between the worlds is at its thinnest and the High Priestesses, back in the time of the Old Religion, would perform a blood sacrifice to tear the Veil and release the Dorocha. To heal the Veil, another sacrifice had to be made (The Darkest Hour). A portal allows a creature, like the manticore, to leave the Spirit world and enter this world. It's unknown if the Veil is related to this magical ability.
  • The Veil appears to be the plane of existence on Earth that ghosts, demons, hellhounds, and reapers are able to inhabit; and in the case of angels and demons occupying vessels, are able to pierce through and perceive the Veil, and can only be visible to those who can pierce/inhabit it. The ancient Celts believed that October 31st was the one night of the year where the Veil was the thinnest between the living and the dead. They used to appease the demon Samhain, who was able to summon ghosts (among other supernatural entities) from the Veil onto the earthly plane.
  • Apparently the meteors contain buildings like labs, factories, and facilities for genetic engineering. The Veil is considered a neutral ground between the kingdoms of Prospit and Derse. The trolls were hiding on one of the few remaining meteors in their own session's version of the Veil when they trolled the protagonists. In every session, once The Reckoning is initiated, the meteors in the Veil are sent towards Skaia to destroy it, causing the apocalypse of the players' home planet when Skaia defends itself. The players have to stop the Reckoning before Skaia's defense fails and it is destroyed.

John accidentally transportalized himself to a strange laboratory in the Veil where several other 'characters' had assembled through various means. The lab itself contains several Ectobiology tubes where various Chess pieces are being created and/or held in stasis. In the lab, John also found a tailor-made Junior Ectobiologist's Lab Suit and 'another one of those four monitored house-shaped terminal thingies.' He used this lab to create the paradox clones of himself, Jade, Rose, Dave, Nanna, Grandpa, Rose's Mom, and Dave's Bro, using Ectobiology. After their session was mostly destroyed, the trolls hid from Jack in their own Ectobiology Lab. In the alternate future Terezi foresaw using her powers as the Seer of Mind, the trolls' hideout in their Veil was destroyed by Jack Noir after he followed Vriska's pixie dust trail in search of the remaining trolls. #c6c6c6;" cellspacing=0 cellpadding=2

It's possible that the Veil between the worlds were somehow involved in Morgause's ritual to summon Ygraine's spirit from the Underworld. Morgause chanted a spell that allowed her to stop time and Arthur was able to talk to his mother. The spell didn't hold long and the doorway (likely the Veil) was quickly closed, never to be opened again (probably only for Ygraine) (The Sins of the Father). A portal allows a creature, like the manticore, to leave the Spirit world and enter this world. It's unknown if the Veil is related to this magical ability. The Horn of Cathbhadh, a magical tool which had the power to summon the spirits of the dead, was used, long before the time of the Great Purge, each year at Beltane by the High Priestesses who would gather at the Great Stones of Nemeton to summon the spirits of their ancestors. In the days of the Old Religion, however, the priestesses trained for years before entering the Spirit World, since it was fraught with dangers. The one thing they were schooled never to do was to look back at the spirit, as the Veil closed. If they had done it, they would have released the spirit into this world. Arthur Pendragon blew the Horn to talk to his father, entering an undefined region of unnatural bright light, but since he had looked back at him before returning to the world of the living, he had to use the magical tool again to reopen the Veil and force Uther into the Spirit world (The Death Song of Uther Pendragon).

Humans will begin to pierce through the Veil once a Crossroads Demon contract is up, allowing them to see hellhounds and the true faces of demons. Piercing the Veil can be incredibly taxing for a spirit and takes a lot of concentration which was evident from the struggle that Kevin went through to sustain his form on Earth. In addition to Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory rogue reapers appear to have secret ways in and out the Veil. The ancient Celts believed that October 31st was the one night of the year where the Veil was the thinnest between the living and the dead. They used to appease the demon Samhain, who was able to summon ghosts (among other supernatural entities) from the Veil onto the earthly plane. Kevin Tran revealed to Sam and Dean Winchester that after Metatron enacted his spell Heaven was locked down, forcing all spirits to remain stuck in the Veil at the sites of their deaths. Following Metatron's defeat, Heaven was restored and reapers now continue to deliver souls there. Despite this, Kevin himself remained stuck in the Veil for nearly two years before God sent his soul to Heaven. While creating a soul bomb, the Winchesters found that they lacked the necessary amount of souls to defeat the Darkness. Billie, however, was able to take about 200,000 souls from the Veil into the bomb. These souls were presumably restored to the Veil once Chuck deactivated the bomb.
