  • Paper Mario: Color Splash es un juego de rol que esta ligeramente inspirado en Paper Mario: Sticker Star ya que su sistema de juego es bastante parecido. En el mundo la mecánica principal se basa en el uso de la pintura con el martillo de Mario para pintar elementos incoloros, personajes y partes del medio ambiente con el fin de progresar en el juego. Estos elementos incoloros y personajes parecen estar conectados con los Shy Guys llamados Pajitaguys. En batalla la mecánica principal se basa en el uso de un maso de cartas (Similar a las pegatinas de Paper Mario: Sticker Star) las cuales tendrán un uso diferente en batalla, ya sea atacar al enemigo, darte una habilidad, curarte o usar un poder especial. Las cartas pueden aparecer coloreadas totalmente, coloreadas ligeramente o sin colorear, con la pintura podrás colorearlas por completo para que el ataque este al máximo potencial, o puedes no colorearlas pero haciendo un ataque mas débil. Si se acaban las cartas o prefieres usar otra se puede recurrir al Carrusel de Cartas para obtener una nueva al azar.
