Mika has worn the Tre Kronor's uniform several times for international competitions: the 2003 World Championships, the 2006 Olympic Games and the 2006 World Championships. During the latter, he has been suspended for the final game versus the Czech National Team for Cross-checking Sidney Crosby of the Canadian National Team to the neck and head area, while he was celebrating the goal he had just scored. On August 2nd 2006, the IIHF's Disciplinary Committee extended his suspension to the first 4 games of the 2007 World Championships to be held in Moscow; he was also fined 5000 euros.
