abstract	Piknim was a young female mouse of Redwall Abbey. She was the best friend of the squirrel Craklyn and also good friends with the hedgehog Tansy. She assisted Rollo and the others in solving the riddles attached to the Tears of all Oceans. Piknim and Craklyn were very active and agile and loved to race each other. They would often use the search for the pearls as an opportunity to challenge each other up or down the stairs and throughout the Abbey. However, Piknim was killed by the jackdaws of St. Ninian's, as she was trying to recover one of the pearls. Her death was the cause of great grief for the entire abbey. She was buried by Auma and Rangapaw during a private ceremony in the Orchard in order to avoid traumatizing the young and old creatures who loved her. Her death also led to the destruction of St. Ninian's, ordered by Rollo who remembered the names of the previous vermin who had claimed the place before the jackdaws.
