| abstract | - Kaleem Besadii Diori was a Hutt crimelord during the reign of the Octil Empire. He was the founder and leader of the Kaleem’s Pirate Empire. His base of operations was on Ta’meina, giving him easy access to the Unknown Regions and Refugee Space. He was born in 113 BBY on the planet Tatooine. He was exiled from his Hutt clan in 48 BBY after stealing vast amounts of money from the clan. He went to a series of planets until finally settling down on Nonderan, now having a small amount of mercenaries and bounty hunters working for him. On Nonderan, his small band of pirates grew into a massive criminal empire. He acquired money by giving pirates, mercenaries and bounty hunters jobs and getting 50% of the money they get from it. He usually raided ships along trade routes. Whenever someone refused to pay him the full amount of money or tried to turn him into the authorities, he would pay to have the traitor brought back dead or alive. In 216 ABY, the Octil Empire discovered his base of operations and sent in an army of Sith to kill him. The base was destroyed, but many pirates, including Kaleem, escaped and went to Ta’meina. There, the criminal empire grew exponentially. Soon, Kaleem’s Pirate Empire controlled the western galaxy. In 353 ABY, a phenomenal bounty was put on two ex Jedi named Eldin Lanew and Kirth Tomon. He couldn’t resist the lure of the rewards. He sent all available bounty hunters after the ex Jedi, hoping to get the reward. After much searching, the bounty hunter Torma Kylen and his crew captured them, but quickly joined the fugitives. Kaleem Besadii Diori posted a bounty on each of them. A large group of bounty hunters led by Maira Jeret captured the fugitives and Torma’s crew in the Nonderanian city, Falmar. Once brought to Ta’meina, Kaleem decided to collect the original bounty on them and then trade them into the Octil Empire to get twice the bounty. His plan fell apart though, when Maira Jeret helped the fugitives and Torma’s crew escape. He sent bounty hunters out to capture them again, but couln’t find them. He continued to maintain his criminal empire until the destruction of the Octil Empire. Without the Sith of Octil, the galaxy could focus on ridding itself of criminals. The newly established Anti-Octil Alliance assaulted and wiped out most criminals working for Kaleem. In 361 ABY, seeing his life’s work destroyed, Kaleem Besadii Diori went deep into the unknown regions in exile.
