  • Anna Friel plays Charlotte "Chuck" Charles on Pushing Daisies. She also did the voice over for the Dandy Lion SX commercial in "Dummy". Anna's Irish Catholic father, a former folk guitarist, was born in Belfast, and grew up in County Donegal. Her brother, Michael, starred in Hovis television adverts. She attended Crompton House Church of England High School (High Crompton), and later attended Holy Cross College (Bury). She began her training as an actress at Oldham Theatre Workshop.
  • 1992 saw her gain the role she would become best known for as Beth Jordache in Brookside. She would play this role for three years and during that time, she would become involved in two of the most memorable storylines in soap history. The first on-screen lesbian kiss in a British soap and of course the legendary "Body under the patio" plot. A National Television Award would follow in 1995. Anna appeared on Coronation Street in August 1991 for two episodes as the character Belinda Johnson.
