  • The Commission for Preservation of the New Order, or COMPNOR, was a political organization within the Galactic Empire that upheld the ideals of Emperor Palpatine's New Order fanatically. The organization was made up of trillions of fanatical recruits from across the galaxy who supported the Empire and it's ideals with blind patriotism. Separate from the Imperial Security Bureau, Imperial Intelligence, and the Imperial Armed Forces, COMPNOR carried out internal operations, for Emperor Palpatine. It included CompForce, a combat division that fought alongside the military.

Personnel of COMPNOR were generally disliked by the rest of the Empire. They were known as poorly trained fanatical followers of the New Order. They provided the Emperor with a private army outside of the Stormtrooper Corps and the Imperial Army. Most who wanted to see combat joined CompForce. Only thirty percent of enlistees actually survived training, while twenty percent were killed in live fire exercises and fifty percent were injured. They often relied on suicide attacks, and had the highest casualty rates in the military.
