  • The Torian is a function invented by Aalbert Torsius. It is defined as \(T(x) = x!x\), using Torsius' definition of the factorial: \(x!n = \prod^{x}_{i = 1} i!(n - 1) = 1!(n - 1) \cdot 2!(n - 1) \cdot \ldots \cdot x!(n - 1)\), \(x!0 = x\) This definition is a generalization of the ordinary factorial: \(x!1 = x!\). The first few values of \(x!x\) for x = 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, ... are 0, 1, 2, 24, 331776, 2524286414780230533120, 1.8356962141506×1082, 5.1012625185483×10315, ...
  • Torian ist ein Königreich südlich des Ork Imperiums. Es wird von Menschen bewohnt und ist der stärkste Gegner der Orks . Der König von Torian heist Krarus .
  • The Torians were a species native to the planet of Tor III in the Alpha or the Beta Quadrant. They were a relatively primitive culture, so much so that the Federation's Prime Directive would likely have forbidden contact with them, given the chance. However, by the late 23rd century, they had already had extensive trade with the Orion Colony on Daros IV, and they imported advanced technology which permanently altered the native culture. In return, the Orions had a monopoly on trade with Tor III, which the Torians were apparently reluctant to break by risking dealing with unfamiliar independent and Federation merchants. Careful applications of bribery, intrigue, and violence by the Five Families may also have had something to do with it.

Careful applications of bribery, intrigue, and violence by the Five Families may also have had something to do with it. Though not explicitly stated, by the context of axe-wielding Torians trading with Daros IV, it is assumed that Tor III is one of the primitive client worlds of Daros IV, hence the above information. Some Torian men worked as mercenaries for other races, and commonly wielded battleaxes and halberds in addition to energy weapons such as disruptors, though some preferred to fight with their bare hands. They were described as "self-propelled sledgehammers with very nasty tempers, especially when drunk," and were noted for being rather large and having long hairy arms. Torian mercenaries were employed by the Simri and Kerav Families on Daros IV. One such mercenary was Morkai "the Render". (FASA RPG module: Orion Ruse)
