There have been three captains of The Bluenoser's other then Anderson: Irishaline, Oneeyedhook, and Surferkitty. The crew is now made up of mostly adults, with the occasional teenager. The crew is named for The Bluenose, a ship built in Nova Scotia that was the fastest schooner to have never lost a race.
