  • A pigment is the primary source of color for a cosmetic.
  • Pigment is a type of ingredient primarily used by the Inscription profession to produce inks. Using the [Milling] subskill on five of any of the herbs listed will to create 2-4 common pigments. Occasionally (25% or 50% chance depending on item level of herb), milling may also additionally produce 1-3 uncommon pigments (almost always 1), although these are found less frequently. • Red Pigment is a crafting-material used for crafting Red Beacons, Red Lamps (Wood Burning Lamps emitting red light), Red Fireworks, Red Stained Glass, Red Beds, Orange Block of Goo, Red Concrete, Red Mosaic Tile Wall, Red Adobe Floor, Red Adobe Roof, Red Adobe Wall, Red Carpet and Red Wood Wall.
  • Pigment is a value in coloring of the genetics editor that determines what pigment of color overlays the original sprites that make up a creature's body. The pigment system grew more complex and added more visual assets through each game in the Creatures series.
  • Each Polychrome Color has an associated enemy, and will only drop if a color is being researched. The frequency of pigment drops and the number of pigments in each drop varies per color from 1 to 10. Polychrome Color research can be started (and pigments can be turned in) at a Clan Dojo's Tenno Research Lab, at a separate terminal by the wall on the right. Each project will have a base cost of ‍ 10,000 and 5 to 550 pigment. These costs are directly impacted by the Clan Tier Multiplier.
  • Pigment, also known as black heroin or black H, is a designer drug featured prominently in the storyline of Orpheus. It is cheap and easy to obtain, and in the Orpheus universe has become the drug of choice of many addicts. The ghosts of former pigment addicts are known as hues. Hues tend to be weaker than regular ghosts, and still carry cravings for the drug in death.
  • A pigment is a material that changes the color of reflected or transmitted light as the result of wavelength-selective absorption. This physical process differs from fluorescence, phosphorescence, and other forms of luminescence, in which a material emits light. For industrial applications, as well as in the arts, permanence and stability are desirable properties. Pigments that are not permanent are called fugitive. Fugitive pigments fade over time, or with exposure to light, while some eventually blacken.

Each project will have a base cost of ‍ 10,000 and 5 to 550 pigment. These costs are directly impacted by the Clan Tier Multiplier. Once fully funded, research for a color takes 36 hours. Only one color may be researched at a time, regardless of the number of Tenno Labs that are present in the Dojo. Research on one color may be paused to start research on another, but any pigment in clan member inventories that has not been donated to the research project will be deleted.
  • A pigment is a material that changes the color of reflected or transmitted light as the result of wavelength-selective absorption. This physical process differs from fluorescence, phosphorescence, and other forms of luminescence, in which a material emits light. Many materials selectively absorb certain wavelengths of light. Materials that humans have chosen and developed for use as pigments usually have special properties that make them ideal for coloring other materials. A pigment must have a high tinting strength relative to the materials it colors. It must be stable in solid form at ambient temperatures. For industrial applications, as well as in the arts, permanence and stability are desirable properties. Pigments that are not permanent are called fugitive. Fugitive pigments fade over time, or with exposure to light, while some eventually blacken. Pigments are used for coloring paint, ink, plastic, fabric, cosmetics, food and other materials. Most pigments used in manufacturing and the visual arts are dry colorants, usually ground into a fine powder. This powder is added to a binder (or vehicle), a relatively neutral or colorless material that suspends the pigment and gives the paint its adhesion. A distinction is usually made between a pigment, which is insoluble in its vehicle (resulting in a suspension), and a dye, which either is itself a liquid or is soluble in its vehicle (resulting in a solution). A colorant can act as either a pigment or a dye depending on the vehicle involved. In some cases, a pigment can be manufactured from a dye by precipitating a soluble dye with a metallic salt. The resulting pigment is called a lake pigment. The term biological pigment is used for all colored substances independent of their solubility. In 2006, around 7.4 million tons of inorganic, organic and special pigments were marketed worldwide. Asia has the highest rate on a quantity basis followed by Europe and North America. By 2020, revenues will have risen to approx. US$34.2 billion The global demand on pigments was roughly US$ 20.5 billion in 2009, around 1.5-2% up from the previous year. It is predicted to increase in a stable growth rate in the coming years. The worldwide sales are said to increase up to US$ 24.5 billion in 2015, and reach US$ 27.5 billion in 2018.

  • Pigment, also known as black heroin or black H, is a designer drug featured prominently in the storyline of Orpheus. It is cheap and easy to obtain, and in the Orpheus universe has become the drug of choice of many addicts. Effects of pigment on the body include mild hallucinations, ecstasy, sexual arousal and, most unusually, the ability to see, hear, and talk to ghosts. It can be smoked, injected, swallowed (in the form of pills or of vials of liquid), or administered in a tattoo patch, in which case it becomes known as piggyback. Pigment can also be used to assist in projection; this is mostly done by amateurs without access to other, safer projecting drugs. It is highly addictive in any form. The ghosts of former pigment addicts are known as hues. Hues tend to be weaker than regular ghosts, and still carry cravings for the drug in death.
