  • The Chancellor's office was located near the top of the Senate Office Building with a grand view of the city-planet of Coruscant. Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine would hold meetings with members of the Senate and the Jedi Order in his office. The entrance was guarded by two members of his red guards. When the Jedi discovered Palpatine's true identity as the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, four Jedi Masters including Mace Windu attempted to arrest him in his offices. Palpatine engaged them in a duel and killed three of the Masters before Windu disarmed him. However, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker stormed into the Chancellor's office demanding he be left alive as he believed Palpatine held the key to helping Skywalker keep his wife, Padmé Amidala, alive. Windu refused and Skywalker severed his arm, allowing Palpatine, now fully erupting as the Dark Lord, killed Windu with Force lightning and sending the dead Jedi's body out of the window of the executive building. Palpatine then issued Order 66, declaring all Jedi to be enemies of the state.
