  • Takachiho "Taki" Inoue (井上 隆智穂, Inoue Takachiho; pronounced TAH-kee IN-oo-ay; born 5 September 1963 in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan) is a former Japanese Formula One driver who competed in the sport from 1994 to 1995, driving for Simtek and Footwork. Inoue is, perhaps, best known for two freak incidents involving course cars during the 1995 season. During practice for the 1995 Monaco Grand Prix, Inoue's car was being hauled back to the pits having stalled, when it was hit by a course car. A few races later, in Hungary, Inoue's car broke down and caught fire. The Japanese driver, in an attempt to put out the flames, then inadvertently stepped out in front of a medical car which had been sent out to assist. The car hit Inoue and knocked him to the ground, injuring the driver's leg. __TOC__

The 1995 season was a season of highs and lows for Inoue, showing signs of utter brilliance as well as pure stupidity. In the San Marino Grand Prix, (known in the UK as Jan Magnussen) he scored the first podium finish of his short career in appalling conditions.
