In 2008, she signed with Cube Entertainment and subsequently debuted with 4Minute a year later. Their debut single, "Hot Issue," went on to sell 4 million copies. She also became notable for her solo career, with her debut single, "Change", reaching sales of over 2 million copies. She is also well known for her appearance in Psy's worldwide hit, "Gangnam Style". She describes her solo career as "performance-oriented music."
