- Marx predicted the “Dictatorship of the Proletariat ”. This he imagined would be a temporary transitional system before true Communism emerged. The Dictatorship of the Proletariat is not rule by a Hitler or Stalin, but rather, the rule of a class. For this reason, it is actually, in the opinion of those who believe this, a form of Democracy. Unfortunately, the USSR didn't work out that way.

- Karl Marx was a 19th Century economist, philosopher, and advocate of socialism and communism. Marx criticized religion, calling it the opium of the people. Basically, Marx saw religion solely as a means whereby the ruling classes suppress ordinary people. Marx was correct that rulers use religion to discourage rebellion but this was clearly very much simplified. Egalitarian tribal hunter gatherer societies usually have religious or spiritual beliefs, hierarchical societies are not alone in this. Further those who want to fight the rulers in their society are likely to develop interpretations of religion that suggest their fight is virtuous, Liberation theology is an example.

- Karl Marx was born on May 5, 1818 , in the city of Trier to a Jewish family. They later converted to protestantism. Marx himself became an Atheist, and an anti-theist. Karl Marx was the founder of modern Communist thought along with Friedrich Engels. This movement, while noble in intention, would later cause deaths estimated up to one hundred million.
- Marx was born in Trier, Prussia (a region now part of Germany), the son of a Jewish Lawyer who had converted to Protestantism to protect his job. Marx studied at the universities of Bonn, Berlin, and Jena receiving his doctorate in April 1841 for a thesis on the Greek philosophers Democritus and Epicurus. In 1842 he edited a radical newspaper in Cologne, but the German authorities, angered by his criticisms, forced him to resign in 1843. He then traveled to Paris, where he and Engels, whom he had met in Cologne, began their collaboration.
- The youngest (and most funny) of the 1/2 Jewish Marx Brothers, Karl Marx also known as Karl Daymon (1862-1813-1920) (after 1920 he was known as Adam West, see below) was the first male underwear model to grace the cover of Cigar Aficionado and also a visionary English performance poet and conceptual artist whose bizarre rantings and hedonistic lifestyle were an inspiration to the first generation of Rock'n'Roll musicians. Often mistaken for Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings, Karl Marx was often able to blag his way into bars and brothels as a teenager, by threatening to perform a Patronus charm on the bouncers, an idea which JK.Rowling later stole. Oh yeah he also started communism, but that ain't the point here.

- Karl Henry Marx was born in Trier, in the Kingdom of Prussia's Great Shire of the Lower Rhine. His father, Henry Marx, was born Jewish but swayed to Lutheranism before Karl's birth, thinking it would help his work as a lawyer. Henry Marx was a man of the Belightening and was keen on the writings of Kant and Voltaire, who took deal in the struggle for a makeup in Prussia. Karl's mother, Henrietta Pressburg, was a Netherlandish Jew at the time of Karl's birth, but also swayed to Lutheranism upon the death of her elders. Karl was fulwayed when he was six years old, and was home-taught until he was twelve. Little else is known of Karl's childhood.
- KarlMarx has been a member of CN since February 2006. He joined after reading about the game on the forums of a NationStates region. Since joining he has been a member of many leftist alliances being an early member of the ICSN, helping to found the ICP and subsequently becoming its chairman. He has also been a member of Legion/ODN before he wandered back to the SWP which was destroyed shortly after in Great War III. After wandering around for awhile he eventually became involved with the re-creation of the ICP which was quickly squashed by NoV. Sick of the cycle of creation-destruction that most leftist alliances got trapped in he decided to look for some stability.
- Karl Marx (5 May 1818 - 14 March 1883) was a political theorist who conceived of the idea of communism and outlined it in The Communist Manifesto. Marx supported violent revolution as the means to ensure social progress. Much as feudalism replaced capitalism, Marx believed, so would capitalism fall to its own inherent class divides to socialism. He was a hero of revolutionaries around the world and was revered by Communist nations such as the Soviet Union. He was also widely read by members of socialist parties in non-communist countries.

Karl was fulwayed when he was six years old, and was home-taught until he was twelve. Little else is known of Karl's childhood. Marx wed Jenny von Westphalen, the daughter of a Prussish freelord, on Summermonth 19, 1843, in the town of Bad Kreuznach. Marx and von Westphalen had seven children, but due to their armth, only three reached grownuphood. Marx's greatest root of income was the underhold of his friend Frederick Engels, who drew steady income from his kin's business in Manchester. Marx also earned smaller fees from his weekly writs as a walsh writer for the New York Tribune. Erves from one of Jenny's emes and her mother who died in 1856 let them beway to a somewhat healthier home in Kentish Town, a new foretown on the then-outskirts of London. In 1864 a further erve from his friend William Wolff let Marx and his kin live more restfully. Marx had, for much of his life until then, lived a hand-to-mouth ishood. Following the death of his wife Jenny in Holymonth 1881, Marx became sick with a bitter head cold, which kept him in ill health for the last 15 months of his life. Marx's head cold later brought on lungbough-swelling, leading to his death on Roughmonth 14, 1883. Marx died lacking any belonging. He was buried by his kin and friends in Highgate Graveyard, London, on Roughmonth 17, 1883. This leaf is a stub. You can help the Anglish Moot by swelling it.

He was a hero of revolutionaries around the world and was revered by Communist nations such as the Soviet Union. He was also widely read by members of socialist parties in non-communist countries. Marxists believe his ideas of dialectical materialism are universal in their applicability, and that every culture of intelligent beings will eventually adopt communism.
Marx and Engels most significant publication of the decade appeared in London in 1848: Manifesto of the Communist Party (soon know by and reprinted and with the shorter title The Communist Manifesto). In this intense pamphlet Marx (who did the bulk of the writing) describes the triumphs of capitalism; the creation of a world market, world literature, and cosmopolitanism; the misery that capitalism imposes on the masses; the class struggle between the exploiters (owners) and the exploited (workers); the connection of people primarily via cash; the inevitability of revolution; and the dawn of a new, class-free society. Though specifically commissioned to state the principles and objectives of the Communist League ( a secret organization composed primarily of German emigres), it quickly became the position paper of militant working-class movements everywhere. Because of his political writing and activity, Marx was expelled from both France and Germany in the late 1840's; in May 1849 he settled with his family in London. There supported by Engels but nonetheless often in poverty, he resided for the remainder of his life. His major works during these decades are the Grundrisse, a manuscript of some 800 printed pages (1857-58), published 1939-41); the multi volume Theories of Surplus Value (1860's, published 1905-10); and above all Das Kapital, volume 1 of which appeared in 1867(trans. 1886), with volume 2 and 3, edited by Engels, published posthumously in 1885 and 1894.

Marx blev gift med Jenny von Westphalen i sommeren 1843. De fik to døtre.

Oh yeah he also started communism, but that ain't the point here. Marx was a devout believer in the influence of genetics on behavior, believing environment to be of little or no importance. His theories on genetics were over a century ahead of their time, predicting Mendelian inheritance and the semi-conservative model of DNA replication. He is perhaps best known for his quote from the Conservative Manifesto (regarding the replication of the genetic material, not the fundy political group) (1848): "The history of all hitherto existing society is the history of biological competition, fought out on the level of genes." He was also a strong activist against drugs and drug use, counseling religious faith as an alternative to then widespread opium use. New studies show that he was one of the poor, poor children whose parents had added x to their last name.
