  • Frick and Frack were a Swiss skating duo composed of Werner "Frick" Groebli (1915-2008) and Hansruedi "Frack" Mauch (1919-1979). Know for an eccentric trick skating act, the duo would perform many outlandish rountines in Alpine Lederhosen, to the thrills of the audience. Coming to the U.S. in 1937, the pair found fame with the Ice Follies as well as motion pictures. Their popularity was so large, that their name became part of slang terminology. After the death of Mauch, Groebli continued on with the Follies, working with the cast of Sesame Street for many of the tours.
