  • Theodore Roosevelt was the first President of the United States of America. Little is known about the man. He was fondly remembered for his presidency and immortalized on Mount Rushmore in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Dissatisfied with Taft's administration, Roosevelt attempted to come back for a third term by running on the breakaway "Bull Moose" Progressive Party ticket in 1912. However, this split the Republican vote and caused Democratic Party nominee Woodrow Wilson to win the presidency despite having only 43% of t
  • Theodore Roosevelt (October 27, 1858 - January 6, 1919) was a male Human who served as President of the United States of America in the early 20th century. During his term of office, he was also awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. The origin of the name of the children's stuffed animal toy, "teddy bear" is attributed to his sparing the life of a motherless, American blackbear cub, while hunting in 1902. Roosevelt's image was one of the original four likenesses carved into the Mount Rushmore National Memorial. (TOS movie: Star Trek V: The Final Frontier)
  • He was part of the Republican Party at a time when Republicans were more like Abraham Lincoln and less Conservative than REpublicans are today. Like Lincoln, Roosevelt also left the Republican Party for his last Presidential bid. In Roosevelt's case, dirty tricks of conservative Republicans made it impossible to gain the Republican nomination despite having a majority of elected delegates supporting him. Roosevelt chose to refuse to be nominated in the 1912 convention, and instead formed the Progressive Party, commonly known as the Bull Moose Party. Roosevelt's ideas were more reformist, liberal and environmentalist (which makes him less of a conservative than modern Tea Partiers would like to admit).

  • Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt was President of the United States until 1909. In the early 1900s, Roosevelt dispatched the Great White Fleet to sail the world in what was later known as the "Goodwill Tour." • Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919), commissioner of the New York Police Department during the time of Martian Dreams, was a member of the prematurely-launched 1893 expedition to Mars. Having taken up residence in Olympus, Roosevelt's police duties were severely reduced, but he was still actively gathering evidence and solving crimes. Through his investigations, Roosevelt had already concluded that Rasputin was responsible for sabotaging Percival Lowell's space cannon, causing it to launch a day early with himself and the other Victorian-era personalities onboard. He also believed that Rasputin, or someone operating under him, had damaged the reflectors used to communicate with Nikola Tesla when he was still on Earth. Fingerprinting was a vital part of Roosevelt's evidence-collecting, and he asked if he might collect the Avatar's prints as well, for possible future use. When the rescue expedition's supply of Phlogistonite went missing, Andrew Carnegie suggested again calling upon Roosevelt's forensic expertise. Examining a broken strap found at the scene of the crime with a microscope (obtained in Hellas), he was able to determine that Rasputin was, in fact, responsible for the deed. Roosevelt also directed the Avatar's group to Sarah Bernhardt for possible ways of providing the Martian, Chsheket, with a more human appearance. At the conclusion of the adventure on Mars, Roosevelt returned to Earth and went on to become the 26th President of the United States.

  • Theodore "T.R." Roosevelt, Jr. (October 27, 1858—January 6, 1919) was the 26th President of the United States (1901–1909). He is noted for his exuberant personality, range of interests and achievements, and his leadership of the Progressive Movement, as well as his "cowboy" persona and robust masculinity. He was a leader of the Republican Party and founder of the first incarnation of the short-lived Progressive ("Bull Moose") Party of 1912. Before becoming President, he held offices at the city, state, and federal levels. Roosevelt's achievements as a naturalist, explorer, hunter, author, and soldier are as much a part of his fame as any office he held as a politician. Roosevelt was 42 years old when sworn in as President of the United States in 1901, making him the youngest president ever; he beat out the youngest elected president, John Fitzgerald "Jack" Kennedy, by only one year. Roosevelt was also the first of only three sitting presidents to have won the Nobel Peace Prize. The Teddy bear is named for him, despite his contempt for being called "Teddy". Born into a wealthy family in New York City, Roosevelt was a sickly child who suffered from asthma and stayed at home studying natural history. To overcome his physical weakness, he embraced a strenuous life. Home-schooled, he became an eager student of nature. He attended Harvard University, where he studied biology, boxed and developed an interest in naval affairs. In 1881, one year out of Harvard, he was elected to the New York State Assembly, where he became a leader of the reform faction of his Republican Party (the "GOP"). His The Naval War of 1812 (1882) established his professional reputation as a serious historian; he wrote numerous books on hunting, the outdoors, and current political issues, as well as frontier history. In 1884, his first wife and his mother died on the same day. He temporarily left politics and went to the frontier, becoming a rancher in the "Badlands" in the Dakotas. Returning to New York City, he ran for mayor in 1886, finishing third with 60,000 votes. He later gained fame by taking vigorous charge of the city police. At the national level, he was a leader in civil service reform. The Spanish–American War broke out in 1898 while Roosevelt was, effectively, running the Department of the Navy. He promptly resigned and formed the Rough Riders – a volunteer cavalry regiment that fought in Cuba. The war hero was elected governor in 1898 and in 1900 was nominated for vice president. He successfully energized the GOP base as a highly visible campaigner to reelect President William McKinley, Jr. on a platform of high tariffs, the gold standard, imperialism, prosperity at home and victory abroad. In 1901, President McKinley was assassinated and Roosevelt became President. He attempted to move the Republican Party (GOP) toward Progressivism, including trust busting and increased regulation of businesses. Roosevelt became the first person elected to a term in his own right in 1904 after having ascended to the Presidency (from the Vice-Presidency) upon the death of his predecessor, winning the largest percentage of the popular vote since the uncontested election of 1820. Roosevelt coined the phrase "Square Deal" to describe his domestic agenda, emphasizing that the average citizen would get a fair share under his policies. As an outdoorsman and naturalist, he promoted the conservation movement. On the world stage, Roosevelt's policies were characterized by his slogan, "Speak softly and carry a big stick". Roosevelt was the force behind the completion of the Panama Canal; sent the Great White Fleet on a world tour to demonstrate American power; and negotiated an end to the Russo-Japanese War, for which he won the Nobel Peace Prize. At the end of his second term, Roosevelt promoted his friend William Howard Taft for the 1908 Republican nomination. He toured Africa and Europe. On his return in 1910 he broke bitterly with President Taft on issues of progressivism and personalities. In the 1912 election Roosevelt tried and failed to block Taft's renomination. It all started with Derrick and his wife, Katrikki, finding a Silver Fang Kinfolk, Theodore, who was also the newly-appointed Sheriff of the human settlement of Kent's Crossing. Katrikki brought the Sheriff to the Farmhouse, where he proceeded to question numerous cubs, and we found that he had been gathering files for the Garou, and was essentially a walking Veil Breach. For that, Derrick was Ostracized by the Get of Fenris William Yort. ~ ~Then, while investigating a DNA Lab Site, DNA being a research lab that knows about us, apparently, Sheriff Roosevelt was found and captured by DNA. Derrick, while Ostracized, tracked him down there, and went by himself to rescue his Kin. he hopped the fence, and was spotted by guards inside the complex. They caught him looking into a mirror, trying to Reach the Umbra where the Gauntlet was too thick. To stall them off, he shifted to Crinos, right there. But, something with the humans made them immune to the Delirium, and Derrick ended up getting captured as well, and possibly questioned. Brian led a number of garou there to rescue him and the Kin. The Sheriff was killed in the process of the rescue, and Derrick was brought back here for judgement.~

  • Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt was President of the United States until 1909. In the early 1900s, Roosevelt dispatched the Great White Fleet to sail the world in what was later known as the "Goodwill Tour." During Day 9, President James Heller - mistakenly stating that Franklin Roosevelt had been responsible - likened the tour to the modern Chinese "Friendship Tour," and said that both events were simply shows of force for the international community. ("Day 9: 11:00am-12:00pm") In 1912, Roosevelt was in the process of campaigning for reelection as President when he was shot during a campaign stop in Milwaukee. The bullet glanced off the manuscript of a speech in his breast pocket before lodging in his chest; however, the wound was not deep and he survived. His run for the presidency was unsuccessful. Roosevelt was the only former president to face an assassination attempt until David Palmer was shot and killed during Day 5, decades later. (24: The Ultimate Guide) Roosevelt's portrait hung in the White House foyer. ("Day 7: 6:00pm-7:00pm")

Theodore Roosevelt was the one of the greatest president of the United States of America because he had many good policies that he introduced. Here are his policies. 1. * The first policy Teddy (Theodore Roosevelt) introduced was his conservationist (environmentalist) idea, he turned 1 million acres of forests and bushes into bird sanctuaries and natural parks, he has been very famous for that. 2. * Theodore Roosevelt's economic policy was also good for ordinary people and is the reason why America went into the progressive era. In America around the time of 1901 to 1906/1907 huge corporations or trusts dominated the American markets making it impossible for smaller businesses to compete in the market. The trusts acted as monopolies and usually controlled an entire industry. It meant that they could raise their prices to exploit consumers since there was no competition and they didn't have to care about the quality of products they made. The trusts treated their workers badly and gave them low wages. Theodore stepped in and split the trusts up into smaller businesses. He allowed smaller businesses to compete and he took away power from huge corporations. He was known as the trust buster. 3. * Theodore Roosevelt also brought other changes as well to the people. 4. 1. * He raised the minimum wage and reduced the working hours. 5. 2. * He carried out the food and drug act banning misleading products and brought in a law that was meant to protect consumer rights while giving better quality for products. Just by doing all of that Theodore Roosevelt became one of the greatest presidents of America of all time Nobel Peace Prize 1906

  • Theodore Roosevelt ( October 27, 1858 – January 6, 1919), also known as T.R., and to the public (but never to friends and intimates) as Teddy, was the 26th President of the United States. A leader of the Republican Party and of the Progressive Party, he was a Governor of New York and a professional historian, naturalist, explorer, hunter, author, and soldier. He is most famous for his personality: his energy, his vast range of interests and achievements, his model of masculinity, and his "cowboy" image. Originating from a story from one of Roosevelt's hunting expeditions, teddy bears are named after him. As Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Roosevelt prepared for and advocated war with Spain in 1898. He organized and helped command the 1st U.S. Volunteer Cavalry Regiment—the Rough Riders—during the Spanish-American War. Returning to New York as a war hero, he was elected governor. An avid writer, his 35 books include works on outdoor life, natural history, the American frontier, political history, naval history, and his autobiography. In 1901, as Vice President, the 42-year-old Roosevelt succeeded President William McKinley after McKinley's assassination by anarchist Leon Czolgosz. As of 2009, he remains the youngest person to become President. He was a Progressive reformer who sought to move the dominant Republican Party into the Progressive camp. He distrusted wealthy businessmen and dissolved forty monopolistic corporations as a "trust buster". He was clear, however, to show that he did not disagree with trusts and capitalism in principle, but was only against corrupt, illegal practices. His "Square Deal" promised a fair shake for both the average citizen (through regulation of railroad rates and pure food and drugs) and the businessmen. He was the first U.S. president to call for universal health care and national health insurance. As an outdoorsman, he promoted the conservation movement, emphasizing efficient use of natural resources. After 1906 he attacked big business and suggested the courts were biased against labor unions. In 1910, he broke with his friend and anointed successor William Howard Taft, but lost the Republican nomination to Taft and ran in the 1912 election on his own one-time Bull Moose ticket. He beat Taft in the popular vote and pulled so many Progressives out of the Republican Party that Democrat Woodrow Wilson won in 1912, and the conservative faction took control of the Republican Party for the next two decades. Roosevelt negotiated for the U.S. to take control of the Panama Canal and its construction in 1904; he felt the Canal's completion was his most important and historically significant international achievement. He was the first American to be awarded the Nobel Prize, winning its Peace Prize in 1906, for negotiating the peace in the Russo-Japanese War, an interesting irony considering his promotion of national warfare as a useful tool. Historian Thomas Bailey, who disagreed with Roosevelt's policies, nevertheless concluded, "Roosevelt was a great personality, a great activist, a great preacher of the moralities, a great controversialist, a great showman. He dominated his era as he dominated conversations....the masses loved him; he proved to be a great popular idol and a great vote getter." His image stands alongside Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln on Mount Rushmore. Roosevelt has been consistently ranked by scholars as one of the greatest U.S. Presidents. Theodore and Franklin D. Roosevelt were fifth cousins but were close and Theodore gave away his orphaned niece, Eleanor Roosevelt, in marriage to "cousin Franklin" in 1905.

  • Theodore Roosevelt, Jr. (1858 – 1919), popularly known as Teddy, was an author, soldier, and the 26th President of the United States. Roosevelt first rose to prominence during the Spanish-American War, as leader of the cavalry unit popularly known as "The Rough Riders." This was followed by a political career, first as governor of New York and then as president. According to legend, his nickname also led to the name of a popular stuffed toy as "the teddy bear."
  • Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt was the 26th President of the United States. He was a Lucian, noted for his energetic personality, range of interests and achievements, leadership of the Progressive Movement, and his "cowboy" image and robust masculinity. He was a leader of the Republican Party and founder of the short-lived Progressive ("Bull Moose") Party of 1912. Before becoming President (1901–1909) he held offices at the municipal, state, and federal level of government. Roosevelt's achievements as a naturalist, explorer, hunter, author, and soldier are as much a part of his fame as any office he held as a politician. Born to a wealthy family, Roosevelt was an unhealthy child suffering from asthma who stayed at home studying natural history. In response to his physical weakness, he embraced a strenuous life. He was home schooled and became a passionate student of nature. He attended Harvard, where he boxed and developed an interest in naval affairs. In 1881, one year out of Harvard, he was elected to the state legislature as its youngest member. Roosevelt's first historical book, The Naval War of 1812, published in 1882, established his professional reputation as a serious historian. After a few years of living in the Badlands, Roosevelt returned to New York City, where he gained fame for fighting police corruption. While effectively running the Department of the Navy, the Spanish-American War broke out from which he resigned and led a small regiment in Cuba known as the Rough Riders, earning himself a nomination for the Medal of Honor (which was received posthumously on his behalf on January 16, 2001). After the war, he returned to New York and was elected governor in a close fought election. Within two years later he was elected Vice President of the United States. In 1901, President William McKinley was assassinated, and Roosevelt became president at the age of 42, taking office at the youngest age of any U.S. President in history. Roosevelt attempted to move the Republican Party in the direction of Progressivism, including trust busting and increased regulation of businesses. Roosevelt was the force behind the completion of the Panama Canal; he sent out the Great White Fleet to display American power, and he negotiated an end to the Russo-Japanese War, for which he won the Nobel Peace Prize. Roosevelt was the first American to win the Nobel Prize in any field. Roosevelt declined to run for re-election in 1908. After leaving office, he embarked on a safari to Africa and a tour of Europe. On his return to the US, a bitter rift developed between Roosevelt and his anointed successor as President, William Howard Taft. Roosevelt attempted in 1912 to wrest the Republican nomination from Taft, and when he failed, he launched the Bull Moose Party. In the election, Roosevelt became the only third party candidate to come in second place, beating Taft but losing to Woodrow Wilson. After the election, Roosevelt embarked on a major expedition to South America; the river on which he traveled now bears his name. He contracted malaria on the trip, which damaged his health, and he died a few years later, at the age of 60. Roosevelt has consistently been ranked by scholars as one of the greatest U.S presidents.

He attended Harvard University, where he studied biology, boxed, and developed an interest in naval affairs. In 1881, one year out of Harvard, he was elected to the New York State Assembly, where he became a leader of the reform faction of his Republican Party (the "GOP"). He promptly resigned and formed the Rough Riders, a volunteer cavalry regiment that fought in Cuba. In 1904, Roosevelt became the first person elected to a term in his own right after having ascended to the presidency (from the Vice-Presidency) upon the death of his predecessor, winning the largest percentage of the popular vote since the uncontested election of 1820. • Theodore "T.R." Roosevelt, Jr. (/ˈroʊzəvɛlt/ ROH-zə-velt) (October 27, 1858 – January 6, 1919) was an American politician, author, naturalist, soldier, explorer, and historian who served as the 26th President of the United States. He was a leader of the Republican Party (GOP) and founder of the Progressive Party insurgency of 1912. He is known for his exuberant personality, range of interests and achievements, and his leadership of the Progressive Movement, as well as his "cowboy" persona and robust masculinity. Born into a wealthy family in New York City, Roosevelt was a sickly child who suffered from asthma. To overcome his physical weakness, he embraced a strenuous life. He was home-schooled and became an eager student of nature. He attended Harvard College where he studied biology, boxed, and developed an interest in naval affairs. He quickly entered politics, determined to become a member of the ruling class. In 1881 he was elected to the New York State Assembly, where he became a leader of the reform faction of the GOP. His book The Naval War of 1812 (1882) established him as a learned historian and writer. When his first wife Alice died two days after giving birth in February 1884 (and his mother died the same day in the same house), he was heartbroken and in despair; Roosevelt temporarily left politics and became a cattle rancher in the Dakotas. When blizzards destroyed his herd, he returned to New York City politics, running and losing a race for mayor. In the 1890s he took vigorous charge of the city police as New York City Police Commissioner. By 1897, under President William McKinley, Roosevelt was in effect running the Navy Department. When the war with Spain broke out in 1898, he helped form the famous Rough Riders, a combination of wealthy Easterners and Western cowboys. He gained national fame for his courage in battle in Cuba, then returned to be elected Governor of New York. He was the GOP nominee for Vice President with William McKinley, campaigning successfully against radicalism and for prosperity, national honor, imperialism (regarding the Philippines), high tariffs and the gold standard. Roosevelt became President after McKinley was assassinated in 1901. He was inaugurated at age 42, the youngest person to become president. He attempted to move the GOP toward Progressivism, including trust busting and increased regulation of businesses. In November 1904 he was reelected in a landslide against conservative Democrat Alton Brooks Parker. Roosevelt called his domestic policies a "Square Deal", promising a fair deal to the average citizen while breaking up monopolistic corporations, holding down railroad rates, and guaranteeing pure food and drugs. He was the first president to speak out on conservation, and he greatly expanded the system of national parks and national forests. By 1907 he propounded more radical reforms, which were blocked by the conservative Republicans in Congress. His foreign policy focused on the Caribbean, where he built the Panama Canal and guarded its approaches. There were no wars, but his slogan, "Speak softly and carry a big stick" was underscored by sending the greatly expanded Navy—the Great White Fleet—on a world tour. He negotiated an end to the Russo-Japanese War, for which he won the 1906 Nobel Peace Prize. At the end of his second term, Roosevelt supported his close friend William Howard Taft for the 1908 Republican nomination. After leaving office, he toured Africa and Europe, and on his return in 1910 he broke with President Taft on issues of progressivism and personalities. In the 1912 election Roosevelt tried but failed to block Taft's renomination. He then launched the Progressive ("Bull Moose") Party that called for progressive reforms, splitting the Republican vote. That allowed Democrat Woodrow Wilson to win the White House and Congress, while the Taft conservatives gained control of the GOP for decades. Roosevelt then led a major expedition to the Amazon jungles and contracted several illnesses. From 1914 to 1917 he campaigned for American entry into World War I, and reconciled with GOP leadership. He was the frontrunner for the GOP nomination in the 1920 election, but his health collapsed and he died in 1919. Roosevelt has consistently been ranked by scholars as one of the greatest U.S. Presidents. His face adorns Mount Rushmore alongside those of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln.
  • Theodore 'Teddy' Roosevelt was the twenty-sixth president of the United States. Bart was encouraged to learn about him by Superintendent Chalmers. An oil lobbyist supposedly bribed the Congressman for Springfield's state, Bob Arnold, into letting him drill for oil in a statue of Teddy Roosevelt head, although it was later revealed that the "oil lobbyist" was actually an undercover member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation as part of a sting operation against the Congressman, after an earlier bribe by a logging company lobbyist supplied to Bob Arnold to tear down Springfield National Forest had been exposed by Lisa Simpson in her essay during a contest recital.
  • Theodore "Teddy" "Bull Moose" Roosevelt was a folklore hero of North American tradition. One of the most popular mythological figures of the United States, he is usually described as a giant, and is often accompanied in stories by his walrus companion, William Howard Taft. The character of Theodore Roosevelt was invented in the late 19th century by sensationalist journalist William Randolph Hearst. He originated as a fictional American war hero whose imaginary deeds bolstered civilian support during the Spanish-American war. However, most Americans eventually became convinced that Roosevelt was a real person and elected him to the vice-presidency in 1896. Surprisingly, his fictional tenure as president has been celebrated as one of the most successful in American history. In the 1930's, Franklin Delano Roosevelt was able to win the presidency based on the false premise that he was Teddy's distant cousin.

Elected as Vice President in 1900, he became the youngest President in United States history at the age of 42 upon the death of William McKinley on September 14, 1901, from botched surgery following an assassination attempt. He was elected to a full term in 1904 and served until March 4, 1909, succeeded by William Howard Taft. Dissatisfied with Taft's administration, Roosevelt attempted to come back for a third term by running on the breakaway "Bull Moose" Progressive Party ticket in 1912. However, this split the Republican vote and caused Democratic Party nominee Woodrow Wilson to win the presidency despite having only 43% of the vote. Roosevelt had served in many roles including Governor of New York (1899-1900), president of the board of police commissioners of New York City (1895-1897), Assistant Secretary of the Navy, historian, naturalist, explorer, author, and soldier (in the war with Spain in 1898).
