During this argument, Robotnik's forces opened fire at the Maple Flower Zone, causing the tunnels to cave in. Delirious narrowly avoided death at the hands of falling rocks, but was still trapped, along with his crew (one of whom openly admitted her hatred of the presenter). Dexter Bagstille set to work on tapping into The Ultimax-Eye's radio frequency, allowing Tails to see if Delirious and company were still alive. Delirious reacted badly to this predicament, heavily crying whilst on-air, believing he was doomed to an eternity of darkness after less than four minutes. This demeanour changed to shock when Smitty chose to focus his camera on his sound technician instead. His mood changed to disbelief when he heard that Tails, the "mascot", had taken control of the rescue operation. Upon his escape, Delirious' attitude towards Tails had changed considerably, calling him the "hero of the hour". Despite constant warnings from his team not to give away secrets to Robotnik, Delirious almost revealed Tails' new plans to connect the Zones of Mobius using the sewer system before his assistant gagged him.
